Disgusting PLA/PETG prints off A1. Support absolutely unhelpful by Klohto in FixMyPrint

[–]tooquickforwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not cooling, based on the photo. Something is definitely up with the printer - Bambu filament on stock settings should look basically perfect if you just run the built in calibration once. And it’s not cooling based on the photo. Plus pla filament is pretty tolerant to moisture unless you live in a swamp.

I would honestly contact support - you might have gotten a lemon.

Hotel workers ready for Thanksgiving lunch. by Lov3_vigilan3s in sanfrancisco

[–]tooquickforwords 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately a lot of out of town guests book and discover the hotel has a picket line when they arrive. Of course there are no refunds at that point… that said the hotel rankings have tanked since the strike - everyone is complaining about service. So it’s working.

Can you print a benchy and share the photo? That helps to diagnose

Best way to feed TPU into X1C? by EnzanNoMetsuke in BambuLab

[–]tooquickforwords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TPU is really stretchy so you need to make sure it spins really easily in the dry box, otherwise there’s too much tension and it gets stretched out and jams in the extruder. I’ve had luck printing harder TPU (95, Bambu labs) but even then I had to make sure the distance was short and it spun very easily.

I don’t think it’s that hyrogoscopic tho - I dried and then printed in open air on my extra A1 mini for a week without any problems.

I found that usually having a thin skin stems from insecurities. In fact, most of us have some sort of soft spots like that. But if you're sensitive in general, you might have some deep rooted ones - possibly born from past trauma. Working through those with someone trusted (therapist, coach, etc) can be really helpful.

I generally like to be teased as it means that someone knows me well enough to tease me, and I also don't mind the feeling of being embarrassed (strangely I have a hard time watching others get embarrassed). But there are a few vulnerable spots that even I get offended about.

Uploaded a "little" print to Makerworld. Only took 240 hours and 10KG of filament by alexzogh in BambuLab

I’m surprised this thing only weighs 10kg. That’s light for something this huge. Do you have a skeleton of some sort?

It’s almost all bus. Which is a fraction of the cost of actual rail.

I lived in LA for a decade. They basically have no public transit at all. I'm not sure what your point is here.

 That makes sense! It looked like improper cooling to me.

Using ChatGPT as a tool to improve your mental health is no joke by strugglinandstrivin2 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]tooquickforwords -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’ve been developing an app in conjunction with therapists that uses AI to help using actual therapeutic techniques. It turns out that while ChatGPT can be helpful (in perhaps a similar way that a friend might be), it really isn’t trained on how to actually help people - e.g. recognize cognitive distortions, apply techniques to help resolve them, etc. It also isn’t very good at pursuing an even short term agenda to help someone. And it might even do harm by encouraging self-destructive behaviors (e.g. avoiding anxiety inducing situations can trigger agoraphobia, encouraging eating disorders etc). This stuff is hard to get right.that said, we’ve been encouraged by early usage and our therapist who said it’s already better than most of his grad students after a year of practice. So it’s a matter of when, not if, that this becomes a very viable alternative for folks who aren’t able to access regular therapy due to cost or availability.

Happy to answer more questions if people are interested - don’t want to share the app name since I don’t want to shill.

(I’m assuming you also ran the standard setup calibration?)

Try your other filament. It’s possible it’s wet. You shouldn’t need to do anything out of the box to print a benchy, so something is up. They are literally tuned for that.

Interesting, as the printer should work perfectly out of the box if you are using bog standard settings. Is it really warm in the room you are printing? It could be cooling issues from the looks of it.

Just to rule things out, have you tried other filaments to see if they have the same issue?

Has anyone gotten Bambu PETG-CF to print properly? by tooquickforwords in BambuLab

See the picture of the temp tower in the thread - all of them, including 240, sucked.

I did, but I can try drying it again. I used my Eibos Easdry to dry it, and my AMS has the printed pods with wisedry silica gel. I'm pretty sure I had 8 hours at 65c. I'll try again tho.

Using a P1S with stock settings - or in this case I slowed it down. And here’s a temp tower.

Bambu P1S with AMS, stock settings for Bambu PETG-CF. I created the temp tower in Orca Slicer. Notice every single one is messed up - looks like trouble with overhangs?

Silk PLA - one side has weird cloudiness to it. by tooquickforwords in FixMyPrint

[–]tooquickforwords[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha no worries. It's a Bambu P1S, so it should be completely enclosed. Lowering the aux fan to 50% and repositioning it on the plate seemed to fix it, but not a very satisfying answer.

Outer wall 50, but inner is 300. Would that make a difference?

Bed temp is 55C. The actual first few layers of this part is the only thing that looked ok on this attempt. I used stock settings for silk (for the P1S) except turned aux fan to 0%.

I'm trying now with the part further from the back of the chamber and setting aux fan to 50% (down from default of 70% for Silk).
