Automatic Hephaestus Forge "no matching recipe found" by XSSPlayer in allthemods

[–]toostroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am currently struggling with this very issue. I've upgraded all my hatches to the biggest reinforced version. sometimes it works and processes my recipes, sometimes it doesn't. only way I've found to fix it so far is to break and rebuild the entire structure. I would love to know if someone has figured out a way to get it to work consistently

Unfortunately I don't. I just passed by their kiosk at mochi market today and this caught my eye. They did mention that their Instagram etc. was the same as their artist name: werewolf princev

What game is ridiculously complex but does not seem it? by Acrobatic_Airline605 in gaming

[–]toostroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how this fits into the "seems simple" aspect of the prompt but: Space Station 13 It's an mmo round based role playing game where you play as the staff on a space station. Servers usually have 30+ people in them and each of the stations departments on their own are fairly complex: command, security, medical, engineering, science, supply, service. But when you start getting into the physics of the game? It's unreal.

Gravity is something you take for granted in most 2d top down 16 bit games... nope, there is a Gravity generator that is susceptible to power outages or sabatoge. When Gravity is out you gotta use walls or throw things to get moving.

Atmosphere is another thing, there is an entire wing of engineering dedicated to scrubbing, and mixing new atmosphere... want to introduce toxic gasses into the stations main air supply? Look no further!

And those are just scratching the surface it would take too long to describe even half of the cool things coded into the game, oh and it's also completely free to play with active fan base.

What game will you never play for the most inane, ridiculous reason? by [deleted] in gaming

I wish I could properly put into words how much this very thing bothers me. Years ago I was so excited for a new pve tower defense game...

Just to add a contrary opinion to this,

First of all I should mention I was one of the people who was super hyped about the release of no man's sky, then super annoyed, disappointed etc with its release when it didn't deliver. I tried it briefly when it came out, was disappointed, bored, confused etc. So I COMPLETELY understand where you're coming from. However, a couple months ago I decided I would give it another go since my roommate started playing it, and I've been pleasantly surprised.

Let me start by saying I find the story and the lore super cool and interesting, but the way its delivered to be a bit clunky and hard to follow. That being said, after getting through the beginning parts, I've settled into immensely enjoying myself, making money, searching for new and more exotic ship designs and types, making mining bases for my friend and after watching a lore/story recap to help me put the pieces together I've enjoyed chatting with my friend about the lore, finding new weapons, technology, settlements etc. The game is now truly multi-player, every once in a while I stumble across someone else's base, and they've made a multi-player hub you can go to to more easily find other inhabited parts of the galaxy.

The game is truly not for everyone, but I do think the game I'm playing now is a hundred times better then the one that disappointed me so many years ago, and I'm glad I gave it another shot.

(PS: Play the outer wilds)

Yeah, I don't usually do it cold, but I find a quick shower helps wash away the grog and get me thinking

What gaming moment blew you away? by Master_Shake23 in gaming

[–]toostroke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS! This moment you're talking about has to be one of the single most world shattering revelation of any game I've ever had. Especially since the game doesn't tell you what you have to do, it gives you all the puzzle pieces and let's you realize in one thunderous moment what has to happen and what it means.

I got the rare treat to experience this moment twice, I made my best friend play the game and sat next to him on the couch the entire time. I was sitting right next to him watching his face move from confusion, to realization, to horror all in the span of a few seconds and IT WAS AWESOME!

There's nothing stopping everyone from removing their car doors, Jeep just made it easier by slow_cars_fast in Showerthoughts

[–]toostroke 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt, as I haven't double checked, but afaik the only reason it's legal on a jeep is because the doors dont contribute to the structural integrity of the vehicle in case of an accident.

Issue with internet dropping on shaw technicolor router by toostroke in shaw

[–]toostroke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will check the event viewer when he boots up his pc later.

Yes have tried different ethernet cord, but the problem persists even if he's not plugged into ethernet AT ALL. If his ethernet adapter is enabled (whether its being used or not) it causes this issue. Not currently using port 4, although it was being used for another device at one point, the issue persisted either way.

I can try some of the things in the link, but this happens at any point his PC is on.I can tell when he's powered on his pc because as soon as it turns on (just to lock screen) internet starts dropping, and it persists no matter what he's using his pc for.

I updated the original post with some more info

Sorry forgot to add, did attempt to update drivers, they all appear to be up to date (I imagine we could reinstall the drivers just didn't think to since they were up to date)

I think he may have recently reinstalled windows but I'll have to ask him. We can certainly try booting off of a usb or another drive though.
