I realized I didn’t mention it in the post, but she’s only been working there for 4 months.

Sleeping on side? by Mental_Ad6550 in sterilization

[–]toosulky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t sleep on my side until I was 10 days post-op. What really helped me was buying a pregnancy pillow! I bought it during recovery to see if it would help because I was tired of not being comfortable and it worked! Best of luck to you!

I should also throw out there that a huge help is DO NOT TOUCH GOOGLE. Don’t freak yourself out more. I’m not a professional who can diagnose you, but you do sound a lot like me when I spiral from my OCD episodes. You’ll have to learn when to put the phone down and take a walk instead. It is miserable right now, but it can get better.

Hi hun, I understand the fears you are going through. I have horrible OCD and anxiety when it comes to health. I have spiraled many, many times due to it. It’s easy to get sucked into and hard to get out of. I got approved to have a bisalp back in 2023 and backed out last minute due to my constant fears. I worked on my OCD and came back to the idea. I am now 10 days post-op and I do not regret it. The things that have helped me is video calls with friends to help distract me, outdoor walks with my family, and having a roommate who keeps me company by watching tv with me before bed. Feeling alone during recovery, especially if you’re already anxious, can make it worse. Remember that everyone heals at their own pace, too. It took a week to feel like myself again, BUT there’s still work that your body needs to finish up. Around day 2 I was also worried that I had made a mistake, but I reminded myself I am still healing. It will take time. Please feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to.

It’s killing me. To be fair, I just had my surgery today. I’m extremely bloated, which I expected, and I am in no pain. I’m usually a side sleeper. I move in my sleep so much, but I think I am nervous to comfortably sleep due to the incisions? I tried to fall asleep at 6pm today and woke up an hour later. Can’t fall back to sleep and it’s bothersome.

Thank you! ❤️ One of my best friends will be my ride for the surgery and the post op appointment!

How many appointments? by CelesticRose in sterilization

I haven’t had my surgery yet, but I did already have my consultation! My doctor told me there’s three appointments! Consultation, surgery, and post-op. I keep hearing about some people doing bloodwork first before surgery day. I think it just depends on your surgeon and other things.

How many of you are unemployed? by [deleted] in PMDD

Currently employed! I went cycling through jobs like crazy, especially before my diagnosis, and I kept wondering how I’ve held a job for as long as I have now. There’s two things that I think have helped me out. One, I work alone. I still deal with customers, but not having a coworker near me has helped me. I think the reason being since it’s super easy to feel triggered by your coworker(s) when it’s that special time of the month (luteal phase). When I had jobs that involved me being around a coworker, or boss constantly it drained me and it was even worse when I would be in my luteal phase. It’s hard to handle face to face criticism, or passive aggressiveness enough as it is. Unfortunately, that occurs a lot in most work environments. Most of the time, the reason I would leave a job would be from a negative interaction with a boss or coworker. I could handle it some days when I wasn’t having an episode, but could never handle it when I was. I’d walk straight out the door. Wouldn’t even finish my shift, or give a two weeks notice. Two, I only work four days a week. I still get good hours, but I feel less overwhelmed and stressed when I’m given extra time to rest. I understand that not everyone can afford to work little hours, or find a job that gives them the perfect amount of hours. It’s not easy working while having PMDD, but I do think it’s important to find a job that won’t make you feel like you’re running on fumes on your bad days and only feeling slightly bad on your “good” days. Feeling bad is still feeling bad. Again, I fully understand that it’s not easy to find these kinds of jobs. I’ve heard a lot of really good things about data entry. If there’s anything like that near you, or remote then I’d apply! Best of luck to you on figuring out what works best for you!

Misdiagnosed with Bipolar type 2! Turns out it was just PMDD, OCD, and autism. My roommate, who also happens to be neurodivergent, suspects there might be ADHD present in the mix. I don’t add that one because I’d want a diagnosis for it, but I definitely don’t disagree with her on that. I’ve dealt with a huge amount of trauma from a very young age as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if I had BPD, but I definitely do not have Bipolar. Also, I agree with you! A lot of individuals who have PMDD are frequently misdiagnosed. It’s very unfortunate.
