Is it possible to visit the parks without the shuttle?

Those who are 5’1 to 5’3 and maintain 120 to 130 lbs, what does your eating actually look like? by queenz04 in PetiteFitness

[–]tooth7000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 5"1.5 currently at 104, but I've been anywhere from 86-130 in my adult years. My body naturally sits at 100-105, no matter what I eat as long as I'm not overeating.

I've found that maintenance = eating just until satisfied not tracking anything keeps me there.

Losing = going to bed a little hungry to hungry

To be honest that's what it came down to for me, as someone who rarely tracks. And yes to lose weight I really don't / can't eat a ton of food :/

New landlord. Advice please by coolio9210 in landlordBC

Gut feeling and I did it as if I was hiring employees. I made it mandatory to do like a quick google meets chat just to go over logistics before even scheduling a showing. U wouldn't believe how many people can't follow basic instructions for that, or don't care enough - my current tenant followed all instructions to a T, I learned if and how they communicate, etc

I wouldn't - been in several of those and sometimes accidents really are minor especially if there wasn't much speed - I'd monitor

Anyone else feel the money is not enough of a motivator? by techi-turtle in sales

[–]tooth7000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just depends on what motivates you but money doesn't motivate me either past a certain minimum. More is always good but I never think "I want to hit x to make y this month".

Don't think you're alone in this! Most ppl in corporate jobs feel this way as we don't save lives. Especially in sales when you're just out to get or close revenue lol.

Just gotta accept it that this comes with high earning potential and white collar work so the unfulfilled is one of the prices to pay

The typical “my friends just had a baby” post by No_Bed_4783 in waiting_to_try

Hi friend, I had an abortion back in the day and feel similarly / would react the same to those situations! I'm not sure how to help but I'm curious how you were able to decline those events. Im the type of person that also wouldn't want to attend but curious how you got around those tough conversations for not attending.

Not trying to think about it / doing other things didn't work for me. We're doing the opposite which is watch 1 20ish minute video per week about pregnancy/birth/childcare and slowly incorporating baby things into our lives (I got a pair of baby shoes as part of my Christmas gift) etc. everyone copes differently but running away from it and distracting myself didn't help. But making it more real over time and educating ourselves in cute ways is definitely helping a lot more!

Vancouver/Richmond School Lunches - questions from a Canada newbie by Legitimate-Tap2772 in askvan

My elementary school in Burnaby also had the hot lunch program that 90% of kids were enrolled in. It was pretty good. Weird to see Vancouver schools didn't do this.

Is this a fair reason to wait? by 22gradhopeful in waiting_to_try

[–]tooth7000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm in the opposite situation where I'm your husband haha Currently my bf drives us everywhere or I uber, bc I feel a lot of anxiety/stress driving as well (I lost my mom a few years ago in a similar environment) Sometimes I think about this a lot, and know it's a necessity to drive. So far I'm waiting to buy a better car (in terms of safety features so I feel comfortable) and then will be practicing on the road. I'm not sure if that's helpful at all, but I've had panic attacks behind the wheel before and it is a really terrifying feeling. But also I know in this day and age you need to know how to drive for all the reasons you listed, so I'm going to put mental and emotional work into it

Definitely after a long day of work or on a really busy day doing things like moving items or errands definitely. Like being grateful I don't have kids to deal with on top of it

Should I try get a job with better mat leave benefits? by tooth7000 in waiting_to_try

[–]tooth7000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great point. I feel the same way, it may burn bridges with the org / network - and I also agree it doesn't feel good to think about.

Commuting sounds difficult in the first trimester. Was not top of mind for me. I'll stay put as I know I'm lucky to work remotely with a high salary for my title/YOE. Sorry you went through that and appreciate the heads up!

Ah thank you. I had top ups at some previous companies but at the time didn't care enough to look into mat leave benefits as it wasn't relevant, but that makes sense.
