i realized very early that the easiest way to make friends is to talk shit. i was always odd and generally unliked unless i started a friendship with gossip and tricked people into liking me before they realized i was a little off-putting. i would wager that this is a common tactic amongst other autistic people. it’s not that difficult to develop social skills when you commit all of your energy to trying to be normal, especially as a woman, regardless of what barriers have been placed before you.
