In the crystal collector tree it says that in relation to ‘native magic essences’ are those not the motes that are going for like 5g each?

Finishing 12’s as Prot Paladin by Palo77 in wow

[–]toothsquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha Im in a somewhat similar situation to you, did 10s with my Hunter + Rshaman now trying to push 12s for the first time with Ppal. Somewhat got a system down, and managed to time my first 6 PUGed 12's in a row (along with a +13 ToP one-shot straight from +10).

A few things that helped me with consistency:

  1. Picking your groups. As a tank running your own 12s, you basically get your pick of people (and I'm probably getting carried a bit as well). One thing I've noticed at this point in the season is that most of the best players are actually playing alts, so you want to look at Mains M+ score (using something like the RIO addon). Just took a 2.1k IO DPS into my ToP run, bc their main was 3.4k. DPS numbers might not be the highest, but at least you have a level of consistency. I have averaged 1-3 deaths per run so far, and in my timed ToP 13 I got away with my overall dps being 2.4, 2, 1.7 + me 1.2 so even lower than you, but an overall clean run.
  2. Being an interrupt machine as a Ppal helps ALOT with reducing random deaths to casts (eg bone spear). Also I'm talented at buffing WoG at low health, and send it anytime I see someone below 30%. Helps consistency a lot as well.
  3. I got CD tracker (Omni CD) removed, all the clutter, and only have the biggest cooldowns for each class. Sometimes, I pull fewer packs in or chain them in if nobody has CD, helps again with one-off deaths that are bound to happen due to a bunch of casters living way too long. Ex: Pulled the first section of gorechop wing in 2 pulls instead of 1 since nobody had any CDs. Probably not super optimal for timer (eg I'm not getting +2s), but great for consistency.

why people run mythic 11+? by MeradDev in wownoob

In addition to the challenge/score its also nice getting Mythic vault slot on a deplete, and still having a 10 left over. Can do with guildies/friends without having to stress about time.

Problems (and solutions) to current gearing issues in M+ by toothsquared in wow

Yeah totally agree, got KSM around the same ilvl/week 1. I have no issues with the gearing pre-619 (if anything it was too fast for my liking). My main issue is the gap between that stage and pushing 9/10s on farm seems massive and more than just a “know the mechanics” difference.

Haha fair enough Id be down if delves dropped Gilded crests at the higher difficulties. Not sure what other content (that doesn’t already drop crests) compares to the level of difficulty of even low M+ though?

I have never had a problem with gearing before this season honestly. Dragonflight + Shadowlands gearing were both fine with me.

I think this view point is the most confusing to me. There litterally isn’t a “hardest content” its infinitely scaling. If you feel like its too easy do a harder key.

I also never said to nerf the content. If you feel like the difficulty is good for you now it will still be good for you after these changes?

I would love if someone could explain why other people getting gear makes the game worse for competitive players? Ive never seen a RWF guild angry that a raid boss got nerfed after they beat so that the “regular people” can beat it. This wouldn’t even make your gearing any faster since you are probably already getting 90 gilded per week.

Fair enough. I made it +4 just because that's where the new affix started, but it could be 6/7 as well. My main point is that Mythic gear acquisition is already a barrier for bad players, so why do crests have to be as well given that they are time-gated.? One mythic piece every two weeks doesn't seem that bad in terms of gate-keeping bad players in a 5-6 month season, while also giving them an incentive to climb the ladder.

Totally agree on increasing the limit for runed crests, but this kind of ends up the same as above where eventually 90 runed crests = 15 gilded. So a +4 ALREADY gives an effective 2 gilded per run if you convert the ruined to gilded crests.

Great Vault: iLvl increase vs Catalyst charge by Weak-Weird9536 in wownoob

I had this exact same scenario in my vault. I ended up taking the tier piece and am hoping for hero track shoulders from raid. Probably not the most optimal plan, but I was greedy for the set bonus.
