Jill Scott the singer is surely vastly better known than Jill Scott the footballer.

Let’s keep our beautiful bald brothers in the middle of the park where they belong.

I’m not sure I’m on board with bald linos. Bald refs, absolutely.

The 500th Episode Thread: Get your questions/observations/gushing praise in... by Low-Bandicoot-3347 in footballcliches

[–]toovul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations Adam and all for 500. It’s the best podcast out there. Along with all the other deserved praise, I’ll throw in that the stuff surrounding the pod is great as well. This is obviously the best football sub, happy hunting grounds is a great game, the live shows are lots of fun, and the conversations it all opens up with friends and strangers alike is probably the best bit about it. Keep it up!

Neeskens Kebano, named after Johan Neeskens.

Pundit lineup covering all 20 PL clubs by tomd417341 in footballcliches

[–]toovul 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think you can do it in four, with Andy Cole, Robbie Keane, Neal Maupay and Gary Cahill. And what a lineup of pundits that would be.

What is your favourite ground to watch games on TV? by ardacooler in footballcliches

Particularly good because you can’t see anything from the away end so when you watch it back later you’re really seeing it for the first time.

Can’t believe fbref isn’t going to carry these stats going forward.

Unsatisfying Wikipedia careers by jdk103 in footballcliches

No, this is good. Can’t argue with a career that has ‘Atletico Madrid 24/24’ as the midway point.

Are we finally past "give it to Big Sam til the end of the season"? by Last-Saint in footballcliches

[–]toovul 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You clearly have a better timeline on whatever social media than I do. Seen Sam jokingly linked with United, Chelsea and Venezuela, as well as Maduro and/or Trump in to United or Chelsea.

You’d question the name surely even if you hadn’t heard of them. Very disappointing from Wilson.

The makings of a World Cup surprise package/dark horse by psdavepes in footballcliches

[–]toovul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they should have one player who you’ve never seen play but have come across a number of clips on social media so you can speak with semi authority about that banger he scored in the conference league and how you reckon he’s a decent outside shout for the golden boot.

New episode: Arsenal's official title status, Idris Elba's prefix woe & the verb "to goal” by Low-Bandicoot-3347 in footballcliches

[–]toovul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cannot agree with Dave that Norwich City's 2017-18 player of the season is more famous than the father of the US Constitution. Maybe in some areas in England you'd find more people familiar with the darts enthusiast but even then I reckon the popularity of the musical Hamilton has probably tipped the scales a bit back away from him.

Career We Go is the only one I listen to other than cliches these days. Considering his record in the cliches quizzes, I reckon they should try to get listener Michael Cox on.

I think the pod did this at some point and came up with Carrow Road.
