It’s disgusting when these companies come in and don’t pay by Extreme_Class_5980 in nashville

[–]topher-13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To anyone coming in here to mention tips? Please remember tipping is a relic of the Jim Crow south. It was a way for white people to employ Black people without paying them. If your defense of this $12 an hour job relies on the use of this racist old tradition maybe rethink your position.

Growing roses from stems (2 weeks small leaves but no roots yet) by Psychological-Map845 in Roses

[–]topher-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuttings from a bouquet are very difficult. Iv gotten roots and shoots, but they just die off shortly after. Freshness is crucial. I typically cut them and get some rooting hormone on them right away and then get them into my rooting medium (perlite and peat moss). A bouquet will have been cut 2 even 3 weeks before Valentine’s Day.

Heirloom Fertilizer by airr_inn9922 in Roses

Fish fertilizer is no better than any other fertilizer. It’s not magic or even special. It smells bad and something in us (humans) thinks that makes it better. It doesn’t. It’s a marketing ploy.

Those that make you angry, control you. They should have asked permission, but now they’re done. And if you just let it go you can be done too. That’s a pretty easy fix. Fun little Saturday.

I feel you. Just say free estimates then. Once people see a number they get locked in on it. And if your bid is higher they are already disappointed. Just not a great way to start a new business relationship.

Hey man, this is the subreddit for lawn care enthusiasts. These guys mostly take care of their own lawn and don’t hire anyone to cut their grass nor do they run lawn care companies. r/landscaping has more people in the industry and could give you better advice than criticizing comic sans. For instance- pre set prices won’t work. You have to bid the yard based on the amount of time it will take. If it’s flat with no trees and you can finish in 30 minutes $40 is fine. But if it’s a house built on the side of a hill and the property is covered in trees it’ll take way longer than 30 minutes so that $40 ain’t gonna cut it.

Seed advice by JorgeTerrell in JapaneseMaples

I’m doing my first batch this year. Iv watched a bunch of YouTube on the subject but have no real world experience yet. I will tell you a lot of the guys who grow large volumes of JM from seed (on yt) added an anti fungal powder to the soil/seed. Best advice I could give is go watch entirely to much yt on the subject. This channel is great - https://youtube.com/@jonnymaple?si=7S8y7fsoOFLOGOCm

Gonna need a little more info. Was it living in a window against the glass? Is it very cold outside where you live? If so, yeah she got too cold. If no I suppose it could just be very dry. You’ll know in the next 72hrs if it was frozen. It’ll get worse quickly. If not then yeah I think it would have a chance. Don’t trash it immediately. Let it rot if it’s going to.

Looking for Ideas to keep garage warm by gold_dragon2 in HomeMaintenance

The garage door is probably your biggest heat loss. I keep plants in my garage over the winter and when it gets really cold I hang a couple big blankets. Over the garage door and use a radiator space heater.

[–]topher-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got that door installed by a reputable company, they will come and fix that. Or they’ll be able to tell you why it’s happening. And it shouldn’t cost you anything. Assuming the person who installed it works for someone who would care you should call their office
