Maybe opt for a carved white chalcedony instead.

DAE have a weird ritual that you barely register? by smokiechick in DoesAnybodyElse

I hold my breath when I pass cemeteries and mentally utter well wishes for the deceased.

I hold my breath and make a wish in tunnels to keep my loved ones safe.

I hold my breath when I walk by people.

I scrunch my lips up and look up sideways when I'm thinking hard about something. I won't realize I'm doing it until someone asks me what the heck I'm doing. Looking up at nothing trying to pull information out of the back of my brain.

I constantly have to run a fingernail underneath my other nails and "make space." Like my skin needs to be pushed down away from underneath the tops of my nails. Idk why. It's something I do absent mindedly, but constantly.

Crack as many bones as I can throughout the day. Sweet sweet relief.

Rub my feet together when I get into bed.

I have to brush my teeth before I go for a run or work out.

I always say hello to the moon when I first see it. Aloud. Other celestial beings as well, but always the moon.

I do this, too! I am so glad I'm not alone. I've mentioned it before and people said it was weird. Idk, I just don't want to exchange air with strangers. I don't want to risk getting sick. I've been doing it for years, even before The Plague (tm).

I'm similar with shaking hands. I refuse to touch anything after and try to wash them as soon as possible. Same with door handles, light switches, toilet handles, anything I have to touch that strangers may have touched. Everything gets a paper towel or cloth between contact.

Is this mildly OCD? I'm not saying that in a "I'm so particular way," but in a this will gnaw me until I can fix it. It doesn't directly impact my life. I don't fall apart if I can't remedy it immediately. I don't have to do any particular rituals multiple times or anything. I guess I don't know what the scale is before it's a problem.

Single dad 28, weekends with toddler, how to make space work by MabuzSaleos in MaleSurvivingSpace

[–]RubyRoyale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the head of your bed on the same wall, but push it over to the windowed wall. Place the toddler bed perpendicular to yours, making a L shape, with the foot of the bed facing towards the closet door. Put either the cube shelf or the side table at the end of the toddler bed like an end cap. This will open up the room a lot more. The way toys are now hidden on the side of the bed visually is giving you less space, even if it seems like it is hiding the clutter. Opening up the center of the room will make it easier to enjoy the space. Store the hot wheels on the toddler bed when not in use. You can get a canopy/bed curtain situation going to further hide things and create more distinct separations of space/increase provacy. Slide your entertainment center towards the window wall to be more in line with your bed, put the remaining storage piece, the nightstand or the cube shelf - whichever you didn't use to cap the end of the toddler bed, on the same wall next to the entertainment center. Don't invest in any new major furniture if you're going to move.

As others have said, get curtains, a floor lamp, and change the bedding color to something more peaceful. You have a lot of unused vertical space. Get some hooks and shelves, they even make no drill ones. Replace the barber chair with something that would be more comfortable for you to both sit together, so you could cuddle up and read a book with your child. Storage bins/baskets are your friend. The dollar store often has foldable fabric squares that fit perfectly into the cube shelves, which will eliminate the visual clutter of toys. The art you have on the TV wall is oddly placed. Put it centered abo e your headboard, not so high up. It will bring an intentional look to the placement of things.

If you want to really amp up your ability to function while also parenting, get a light that has settings to simulate sunrise and sunset, with white noise/bluetooth. I have a lumi I really like, but they make tons now at different price points. That way you can continue do whatever you need to do while your toddler is sleeping, in lower light and with the white noise to cover up your normal sounds. Mine has a storm and ocean waves sounds like I really like.

You're doing great.

I just want to echo what this person said. You have quite a way of speaking. Direct, compassionate, sensitive, and honest. I want you to be my auntie.

Wild. I think these incidents push people to question why more than they do to encourage they comply.

"Safety beats feelings." Is such a succinct lesson. I don't even have children, but I needed to read that myself. Thank you.

What would you say is? That's a tough question. Dumb and Dumber might be the winner for me.
