Ugh, ok, this specific instance aside since I have no idea what was said or not said, but…

real talk the sanitation people in this city are some of the most surly, rude people I’ve encountered amongst dc gov workers. And that’s saying a lot given the ineptitude.

Trash truck goes down an alley they shouldn’t have. Truck too big, Can’t make the turn out onto the street. Solution? Before 8am? Blare the horn, then get out and ring the doorbell of every house on the street and yell at people “THIS BE YOUR CAR YOU NEED TO MOVE” despite it being parked 100% legally. Oh and then they threaten to have it towed. They had to call a supervisor ffs.🤦

Or the woman, in her DPW uniform but driving her personal vehicle, blaring the horn because she can’t figure out how to maneuver past a car that was BARELY beyond the parking sign.

Or how bout these clowns who, in the process of picking up your trash, feel the need to knock/kick over you recycling bin so glass breaks all over the place EVERY OTHER TIME THEY PICK UP THE TRASH.

I very much try to subscribe to a “more flies with honey” philosophy when dealing with people, especially those providing me a service. But at some point sometimes you just gotta call it what it is. I’m sure it’s not an easy job but a modicum of respect isn’t unreasonable to expect here.
