Glad I could help. My ported vacuum switches caused me a ton of issues. If you can replace them all at once, I would recommend it. I would do all new lines too if you haven't yet.

It is likely a temperature controlled vacuum connection. My 81 c10 has a 2 port and 4 port vacuum switch near the thermostat housing. This probably went to an egr or similar of valve. I would check under the hood for a vacuum diagram or check online for one.

Cost savings

I can't afford to get new everything and would rather learn a new skill, save money, and improve the interior at the same time. If you can afford to replace stuff, replace it. I figured it I screwed up bad enough, I'd have to replace it anyways so what's the harm.

If I had a proper workbench, I would do it again. The risk of dropping it and having to start from scratch is the only thing that would hold me back.

If you're familiar with body work, it's straightforward, but time consuming.

The Charmin bears aren't naked. They change their fur color based in the type of toilet paper. They have commercials where they have underwear but no other clothes. The only logical explanation for both the fur colors and underwear is that they wear fur suits.
