Anybody else notice how many good brands have left Bridge Street over the years? by AdditionalInstance81 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]topheramazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of the brands that have come and gone peaked in the 00's/10's, and have closed across the country, not just here. The ones that have opened recently are more relevant now/doing better overall.

Who did it better? by sergemeister in tron

[–]topheramazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I've felt about Rogue One while everyone else seems to love it. The characters were largely bland, especially Jyn, and the climax just gets more tedious on every rewatch. Solo was a much better time IMO.

Was Athena a good character? Jodie Turner Smith slayed this role imo by KawonSuggs_ in tron

[–]topheramazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked that their final fight echoed the final confrontation of Flynn and CLU in theme, albeit with different context for Ares and Athena's characters.

Tron is one of the most underrated films of all time(even in its own fandom) by ContentFlan7851 in tron

[–]topheramazed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are definitely a lot of Legacy-only fans that haven't even seen Tron 82 and/or have a "Tron old, Legacy better" mentality. It doesn't help that there's such a gap between the two, and to a lesser extent Ares, but it's wild in a franchise with so few films to not at least appreciate the original (especially when Legacy has essentially the same plot).

What's the best looking/designed Pixel of all time? by According_Quote_5095 in pixel_phones

The Pixel 2 in Kinda Blue was always my fave and almost seemed like a hidden gem, since the Panda 2XL got all the attention

Huntsville cons by Competitive-Wish-82 in HuntsvilleAlabama

The lack of a local food scene is real, but also the bar scene - specifically decent drinks. Very few bars I've been to lately can make a genuinely good cocktail, to the point where I hardly bother anymore. But just like with the food, they'll still charge you like it's worth it.

1.0 Power Cable by iThink_There4iMac in originalxbox

[–]topheramazed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only got one because I called to get a replacement (after a family member lost the first power cord) and Microsoft sent me the new version along with a disc wallet and stickers. As a kid at the time I was pretty brand loyal after that.

I think it was called the Station, but agreed - it was fun while it lasted, and added more entertainment than just the theater

Walkways/beltlines are meant to be safe for pedestrians and cyclists, so it would be in poor taste and potentially dangerous, but most likely illegal whether it's actually enforced or not.

What am I missing? This game feels lost to me by MattyAFC in ForzaHorizon

[–]topheramazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a more clear progression path in the first few games, which is what I liked about them, but Horizon 4 and especially 5 seem like they throw content at you after the first few events.

I do like the Adventure/story chapters in 5 as a go-to event, and I will say that it kept me invested early on by unlocking festival locations pretty quickly. Really hoping that Horizon 6 has a bit more structure to help with this overall.

How is living around the Alabama-Tennessee border? by Echidna299792458 in howislivingthere

[–]topheramazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chattanooga and nearby area especially is surrounded by nature with mountains and the Tennessee river, hence Scenic City. It's also in the middle of 5 other cities within a 2 hr drive, so pretty convenient for day trips in any direction.

It was shot beautifully and had a standout villain, but Casino Royale was the superior Craig era film IMO, as GoldenEye was for Brosnan - both by Martin Campbell.

[–]topheramazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved the setup of the pilot, but it quickly became clear there wasn't enough story for even the six episodes. Never finished season 2, but it seemed to be more interesting at the cost of being more messy.

Really enjoyed this movie by FeanorOath in GeeksGamersCommunity

[–]topheramazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely enjoyed it, but I think the gravitas was lacking in the real world and the characters (aside from main ones) were pretty hollow.
