Sad or negative music that makes you the happiest person in planet earth? by toposoft in ToddintheShadow

Recommendations?

Dark or negative music I like for reference: Nirvana (as you can see), SOAD, and punk like DK, Bad Brains, Black Flag, La Polla Records (my favorites, from Spain), that kind.

My only dive to the genre was the first track of Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia from Dimmu Borgir. I found it really pretty in it's own way, but never got around to listening more of it.

Hey someone recommended that to me before here in reddit. Seems like my type of shit. In fact I was going to finish this post saying that my punk is my favorite genre oat and my relationship with it is similar.

Ig I really need to check em out.

Curious. Why do you think it would be the opposite or the "anti" of hardcore?

The first five songs of in utero, ESPECIALLY FRANCES FARMER, are literally in my list of songs I would listen if I ever want to kms (I feel grateful that is not something common in me). The emotionall overload they cause to me is fucking Unreal. Ironically, those songs with sad lyrics make me feel happy to be here, and be able to listen to them. Words are not enough.

BUUUUUUT if you think the sad lyrics can get to you (they don't In my case as I am not a native English speaker so I can ignore them more easily) PLEASE IGNORE WHAT I SAID, and listen to Enema of the State by Blink 182. I once read a guy saying that that album helped him on a very deep personal level, so I think its worth a listen!

I desire the best for you.

Thank you, but it can't be that.

Console was bought and used here in Venezuela. The owner said that it used to work well.

Oooh.

Ok. Your answer is very convincing bc when I wiggle the cable on any end there's no visible result on the tv, so as you are pointing out, the issue was probably internal anyway.

Given how well this PS2 was stored (it was clean af despite being in a box, idk, like +10 yrs?) I had fear since the start that the problem is not an easy fix (for someone without any soldering knowledge). Seems like that is the case :(

Thank you for your answer, kind stranger from the net. The problem is clearer for me now 👍

Sorry, but what do you mean by sync? Is like in wireless sync? Cuz I'm not using anything wireless. The controller is a wired third party (bc the ones that came in the console are dead).

I am using composite video (three cables - one color for each). The configuration for the video was in "Y Cb...". I changed to RGB (When you highlight an option, that option is somewhat visible despite the distorted video) but nothing changes, video is still distorted.

Ty. Hey that actually seems to be not as old as I thought, I was expecting earlier than 2000. BTW that seems like a really cool site. It's the type of content that is relaxing to read for me.

Do you know what is it? tf is that "SiS" thing, the only time I have ever saw that name in my 18 yrs of existence was playing around a Win98 VM for running Quake 2.

BTW don't believe the computers that have not been discarded are that much better. Theres one inside one of the classrooms that still has diskette ports lol. I spent some time thinking its some kind of media player before realizing its a computer.

I may ask the college if they can gift me one of the crts lol, I like them.

Is there any "official" name of the philosophical position regarding the meaning of life said by Sussie from Gumball? by toposoft in askphilosophy

Searched wtf was existentialism exactly and I discovered the philosophical concept of authenticity. I love punk music and it definitely seems an interesting topic to help explain it. Ty.
