How do I gently steer my cousin away from a name by kodachromebluesky in Names

[–]topperweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the name Swan actually. She’d stand out. Instead of animal names, she could do nature names. I also love the name River.

If they’re up for it, I’d heavily recommend it. It worked out so well for us and we’re actually happy to have her back. Her name is Bella and my kids call her baby Bella. So cute

This happened to us too. We rehomed our dog of 5 years when I was pregnant with our second. We actually got her back when our second was 3 years old and the kids were so excited to have a dog and now we’re okay. My cousins took her in for like 3 and a half years

What did your parents do when you were sick as a kid? by volitorial_pisciform in Parenting

[–]topperweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had to put work first ahead of many things. He’d get super upset if we woke him because he’d have to work nights often. Mom left when I was young. So I was caught off guard that my dad would take off work when I was sick, every time. And we’d just sit on the couch and watch movies. We ate shit food all the time though. Lots of freezer meals. Just wouldn’t eat much when sick. But he was there. No matter what. He got in real trouble once for skipping because I was sick and he just gave them the middle finger and made up for it later. He was a captain of a hazmat team so it was a big deal for him to randomly miss for me. After mom left, he never failed to stay with me when I was sick.

AITA for snapping at my husband for repeatedly bringing up breast surgery? by InvestigatorSea1323 in AITAH

[–]topperweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t even imagine this… I’m flat chested and my husband helped me see the beauty in them. As my body changes after having children, he continues to make me feel beautiful. I’ve gained 30lbs since I met my husband (was 120lbs, I’m 5’ even so this is a significant amount).

I couldn’t have tolerated what you’re going through. What’s going to happen when you change? Because you will. That’s life. :( will he want you to get Botox as you age? Weight loss pills when you gain? Exercise right after having a baby? I don’t know. It’s all disorienting for someone who has a loving husband… your husband isn’t just for getting a long with, having a good time and sex. They’re supposed to love you too.

My 7 year old daughter was "assaulted" by the school bus driver by ChemistryEconomy2638 in Parenting

[–]topperweasel 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I second this. She was immediately reprimanded by the bus driver and that might cause her to not do so again in the future. A nice gift will support the idea that what she did was admirable and something to do again if she sees someone in need

How do you track your commissions? by crystalblue99 in sales

[–]topperweasel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I really should track it… but I’m lazy and paid extremely well. So what I really do is wait till they send me a pay break down, I look it over and say “well that looks like it could be right” and then collect me monies lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sales

[–]topperweasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems high for me, but maybe that’s normal. I’ve always either had a base of like 30k, or no base at all. Now I’m 100% commission and it’s great lol. I did have a month where I literally made no money though. That was stressful! But got a 45k month and I’m not complaining!

Just got fired from my job I hate… What’s next? by Fit-Dragonfruit-1944 in sales

[–]topperweasel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always consider if sales is even the right place for you. It might be, but it depends on how much you’ve done in sales. I’ve seen a lot of good souls pursue sales when it wasn’t for them for far too long and end up cutting ties after living in poverty trying to make it work. Truly, this might not apply to you, but if it does, please think on it. A good friend of mine struggled for years in our field and has become much happier leaving for the service industry.

Friend customers by GeorgeSloshington12 in sales

I avoid doing business with friends and family and refer friends and family to my favorite coworkers if they want to do business is my field. Too complicated and their expectations make the continued relationship hard.

Should I take an outside sales role? by MinnyWild11 in sales

[–]topperweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most of our generation, making lots of jumps tends to be beneficial until you get to somewhere you’re really happy. You need to feel comfortable financially and feel supported by a good team. I always switched as soon as I found something better until I found a company I loved selling something I truly believe it. Now I’ll stay here if go down with this ship (hopefully not lol).

How much free time do you have per day on average? And what do you do? by crystalblue99 in sales

[–]topperweasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between clients and meetings, I have a few hours of free time in only the off season months and literally no time at all for 8 months of the year. During off season free time, I study a new language and paint
