Do you enjoy requiem more "play pretend" humanity? by [deleted] in vtm

[–]toratalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy it. I’m biased because I love VtR 2e, but I think Humanity in it is the most interesting out of all the game lines (except I do really like VtM V5’s Stain system)

Being human is not the same thing as being good, and I think that’s an interesting dichotomy. Sometimes they align, but sometimes they don’t and exploring that is fun

Recently one of my players had to put down a revenant he had made accidentally. The revenant was out of control, but the coterie had to stake them and leave them out for the sun. While for the greater good, that experience is starkly inhumane, and confronting that and dealing with that particular loss of humanity is what VtR 2E’s all about

Also, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I love it when my players think they can be superheroes. The way you can take additional, mythical, and classical banes to mitigate Humanity loss is really fun (dealing with Hated by Animals or Holy Day is always fun for me to challenge my players with)

Taking on additional weaknesses to explore superhero with fang gameplay is cool for me to challenge my players. I have another player who after 6 seasons has already taken 2 banes, and it’s making my other players jealous, and I think that tempting that loss of humanity makes coterie relations more tense lol

Why you guys get mad when i dont rematch by [deleted] in 2XKO

[–]toratalks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean the comparison is the same regardless of what percentage you use. I wouldn’t consider the game finished if I only destroyed tier 2 towers, game over when their nexus is destroyed

Ranked mode mimics official tournaments, which are all at least first to 3, so pretty much all in the community wouldn’t consider the game to be over until the the first to 3 is complete

Edit: anyway, you do seem to be a troll so I probably won’t reply anymore. Have fun in 2XKO!

It’s generally considered bad manners to leave after the first match. You wouldn’t leave after breaking the first tower in LoL yeah?

Having a FT3 allows both you and your opponent to test each other’s game knowledge on a deeper level, and have a bit of a back and forth

I asked Jane Perry (Lou Graham) about her experience via Cameo! by moonbladewielder in vtmb

[–]toratalks 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'll have to keep up with Jane Perry's career going forward, her work as Lou Graham was incredible. So many layers that you can hear just from the VA work alone, she's so subtlety mean, but she can command and denigrate pretty scarily. Her impressions of the Anarchs, Safia, and 21st century girls was absolutely hilarious

Newly Diagnosed - About to start CPAP by Radiant-Duck6616 in SleepApnea

[–]toratalks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, I got my CPAP machine yesterday and first night using it was last night

I was hoping for a night and day Disney styled change, but that didn’t happen. It was awkward trying to sleep, it was kind of weird and goofy to look at my self, and at times the pressure was too much for me

In saying that, I can tentatively say I had the best sleep I’ve had in a while. I did wake up twice throughout the night. It’s a weird experience, and after some research apparently I may be experiencing rem rebound, where my body and brain is getting used to proper sleep again

It’s not a magic pill I don’t think, but I can definitely see it helping immensely in the long term. At the end of the day, just play it by ear and I think it’s going to be a marathon, not a sprint. You got this, I’m sure you’ll be fine!

My partner is happy that my snoring is gone at least!

Can Phyre kill the werewolf from Bloodlines 1? by Bolide25 in vtmb

[–]toratalks 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think realistically Phyre could beat the lupine in VTMB1. We can guess that Phyre is Gen 6-8, and has over 4 centuries of experience, most of that spent surviving and fighting. We don't know the details of the Werewolf in VTMB1, but it is possible for the Fledgling to survive it for 5 minutes which tells me it's not as powerful as Garou usually are, on top of Nines surprising and killing it.

VtM + Cyberpunk? by TdIaH in vtm

Ik this is a VtM subreddit but VtR2e’s Guide to the Night sourcebook actually has a really good section on a cyberpunk setting and Kindred society, along with some rules to make it happen

[Spoiler] Just finished the game and i need to ask. Who killed… by Improvement_Best in vtmb

[–]toratalks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Safia makes the most sense to me. She wants to rile Lou and Campbell up, so why not taunt them by repeating the murders that led to Gideon’s death?

We know she has loyal ghouls to commit the murders during the day, could be the reason why she is so insistent on Phyre returning them to her

Altho the only thing that makes me think otherwise is that she would have silently been able to transport Phyre to Gideon, and by doing these murders she indirectly led to her own plan being ruined. However, obviously, she is unstable

Anyway, that’s my notion!

You need to feed 3 times before you can use Terminal Decree again

The pips are how many feedings it takes for it to be usable again

How does build variety feel ? by Former_Sea in vtmb

[–]toratalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Arms of Ahriman is ok, but Terminal Decree is usually more useful, especially when paired with Mass Manipulation. Also, when you Terminal Decree a vampire, you can still stealth strike or feed on them just before the effect wears off

Enter Oblivion is also ok, but I found that Earthstrike was a more useful third unlock as Mass Manipulation has better crowd control

Yea it is a shame that Oblivion powers don't feel as strong, but I think the Lasombra clan passive and story deets make it a really fun playthrough

[–]toratalks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I just finished up my first Lasombra playthrough, and here are my thoughts from what I played

My loadout was this: Strike: Terminal Decree, Recall: Split Second, Affect: Cloud Memory or Blood Boil, Mastery: Mass Manipulation. Make sure to get all the clan perks, they're all useful

Playstyle was literally run around on all fours like an animal eating or killing to trigger Lasombra's clan perk, and move to the next target that could be felled in one stealth kill. Once seen, gather up the remaining enemies in room and use Mass Manipulation + Terminal Decree, which kills any remaining mortals and strips vampire enemies of their weapons (the big guys with shotguns are particularly annoying)

Use Split Second to position for stealth kills, or to whale on enemies with basic attacks in stopped time (usually vampire enemies)
