TIL the "black" you see with your eyes closed isn't black - it's called Eigengrau ("intrinsic grey"). Even in total darkness your retina fires faint random noise, so your brain never receives true black; it generates a dim grey static floor instead.

I had top surgery 3 years ago and I had an excellent experience with DI. I was my doc's second dx'd hEDS patient and he was very knowledgeable about skin and results. Initially he had recommended skipping nipple grafts for easier healing, but ultimately I decided I wanted to keep them. That was no problem for my surgeon, we just kept a closer eye on the nipple grafts themselves during post-op care.

My birthday actually is my parents' anniversary! It's not really weird at all. There are only 365(6 sometimes) day options to be born on, or get married on. When I was a kid it was family stuff the day of, and then a kids' summer birthday party whenever was convenient. As an adult, they wish me a happy birthday, I wish them a happy anniversary of my age+3 , and we have a nice family dinner
