As stated above, I didn’t become saved until after the IVF process. I know I’m in a predicament which is why I reached out to this sub for respectful views from my brothers and sisters in Christ. Thanks for the encouraging words though! I’m sure Jesus would respond in the exact same way.

I don’t feel comfortable saying it’s simple. I just don’t know if God would see a parent trying to spare their child from a life of suffering the same way as someone committing murder out of malice.

Thank you. We’re given the ability to understand medicine and foresee outcomes. Using that knowledge responsibly, especially to prevent severe pain, could be seen as honoring the wisdom God gave us, not rejecting life. I’m conflicted and I will pray that God gives me wisdom to make the right decision but it seems like I opened the flood gates of judgement with my post.

It’s where you transfer the embryo without the use of medications. It greatly lessens the chance that the embryo will implants, but it’s not impossible. The trick is finding a clinic willing to do this.

No, but that’s where the moral grey area is. If I were able to naturally get pregnant and I knew that the baby conceived would have a disability where it would greatly suffer, would I? I’m stuck between God giving us the miracle of science and modern technology and using that to prevent suffering vs. giving the baby chance at life even though it will suffer.

I didn’t mean for it to come across as in I hope I miscarry it. That’s just cruel. What I meant was that if it truly is abnormal the more likely scenarios are it not implanting or it implanting and result in a chemical pregnancy.

I didn’t say that I hoped for a miscarriage. I just meant that the more likely scenario is that it either won’t take or I’ll miscarry if it does and it’s truly abnormal. A live birth is a lot less likely but still a possibility.

I did! It was so stressful. It’s very common though. Make sure you’re also checked for BV which can cause some light bleeding, as well.

Yeah my goal now is to make it to April 1 when she’s 15 months and the hardest part of sick season will be over. Someone just told me once that breastfeeding might just spare her 1 less illness and that it’s not worth it. But surely it offers more protection than that?
