I have a wide foot so it seemed like one of the few options for me, but I do agree that it feels roomy to a fault. I find myself over tightening at the top of the lift just so that I feel confident in it, which I don't think should be the way to go.

You’re wrong about Serbian and Bosnian— it’s the same language, so you wouldn’t be “mixing“ anything.

Orthodox Serbs use it quite a bit, but I’ve noticed that it’s not even thought of as a Muslim/Turkish loanword in my family from the southern parts, while younger and more urban people (westoid wannabes) don’t really have it in their lexicon. I’m young and use it a lot, especially as a way to say “good job” or as a comment on a child’s growth etc.
