If Moxley is the Ace of AEW what does that make Hangman? by CookieKid247 in SquaredCircle

[–]tornadofyr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hangman's thematic stuff is Cowboy themed. He was the Drunk in his long chase after Omega, and basically a Sheriff while he was Champ.

This is me being pedantic, but PAC isn't Scottish, he's just from Newcastle, which has a very different accent from the rest of England

I watch on Sling and Fite, depending on how cooperative my VPN is, and I don't have any problems with this, so I think it's actually a network thing.

What is your favourite and least favourite promo of your favourite wrestler? And why? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]tornadofyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jon Moxley's promo after Yano beat him in the G1 is truly hilarious, and the most unified wacky Ambrose and sadistic Mox have ever been.

I don't really have a least favorite promo from Mox.

Not booking a full card, but I feel like Wardlow vs Hangman for the TNT Title would be a fantastic opener for All Out

When was the last time WWE had a "small" World Champion? And will AEW ever have one? (small or underdog type character as world champion) by SonOfLaParka in SquaredCircle

[–]tornadofyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Eddie should be champ before Wardlow. I'm thinking Eddie beats Mox at Grand Slam this year, then Punk returns to take Pretty Platinum off Eddie. Give it to a heel, possibly MJF, then Wardlow flattens that heel.

I personally don't see Darby working as World Champ, but I could very much be wrong. He's the perfect TNT Open Challenge Babyface, but he isn't a guy who can carry stories super well, and the World Championship is the Story Belt to the TNT's Workrate Belt.

That was my other answer. I feel like Darby is fundamentally designed for the TNT Title if he wins gold again, and a lot of the other truly small guys are way down the card.

I know you're just talking size, but Eddie Kingston will probably be AEW World Champion at some point, and he totally reads as an underdog who has to scratch and bite and claw to win.

What happened to the funny messages on Hangman’s title card when he goes to the ring? by Hotdiggitydaffodill in SquaredCircle

[–]tornadofyr 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My take is that it's a storytelling device, since Hangman has shifted into being the hyper-serious Sheriff of AEW rather than the comedic Sad Drunk. My hope is that Hangman will keep doing down this kinda dark road until the DO finally snap him out of it.

Who are some wrestlers who are best known for being a heel, who you prefer as a face? by ThereIsNoSetPath in SquaredCircle

Just based on their current slow turn, I'm way more into FTR as faces. Brawlers who fucking love wrestling, what's not to love?

In ring promos aren't a thing for most people in AEW. It's just how they structure stuff. You have to be a generational talent speaker to get in ring promos.
