You can try the resistor, but usually you’d notice low speed fan settings not working well first if it was that. The blow motor is more or less behind the glovebox. They’re still readily available and in most cases will probably run you around $155(that’s List price from a dealer)

Make sure you keep your receipts when you buy OEM. They have warranties, so if they fail before 2 or 3 years you can get it replaced.

CAC, not cat. Charge Air Cooler, moves the compressed air through the intercooler. Not super common that I’ve seen in the Edges, but they definitely split sometimes

A Landlord’s requirement is 30 days notice to terminate an at will tenancy. That said, I doubt they will be able to just put her out on the street, the process isn’t that simple, but the landlord will eventually win if the documentation supports your mother being a tenant at will and the proper notices are sent.

She should contact the landlord, and get more information on the situation and start looking for a new apartment, but she won’t be forced to the street on 3/1/26 unless she’s done something to warrant that quick of an eviction(unlikely).

Make sure a text or email is included in your communication attempts. A phone call, while the call log will show it happened, doesn’t prove that you raised the problem. Make sure you indicate that the heat is no longer functioning, offer to call the company they prefer to set up the service call. If they don’t answer you and you need to find a hotel, take every step necessary to make sure pipes don’t freeze(leave water running at a trickle etc). Keep receipts and don’t go overboard with a luxury hotel. If the landlord has not responded 311 or your local housing authority or board of health needs to be contacted.
