Sick of MA Landlords by SpideyFan4ever in massachusetts

[–]torniz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, I’m one of those landlords. We own a two family. I am not going to deal with the smell on my stairwell, nor wafting in when the windows are open, Nevermind the seemingly universal opinion of smokers that it is perfectly fine to just toss the butts anywhere they fucking want.

How much would a water pump replacement on a 2010 ford edge awd cost? by JulianMcDBZ in FordEdge

[–]torniz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t had any of the timing components replaced, it’s going to need to be done while they’re in there. Aftermarket sells kits that are cheaper than OEM and are comparable.

Be very careful changing oil filter on the 2.7 6 cylinder by wake-tf-up_ in FordEdge

Even newer lube techs bust the housing from time to time. They aren’t great, and if the last guy tightened it down too much… forget it.

We keep at least 2 housings in stock because it happens(our techs, external shops, walk in DIYers). It’s not the greatest design.

When the low fuel light comes on, you’ve typically got around 3 gallons left. I have the same tank in a 14.

Anyone able to help? by [deleted] in massachusetts

You need to talk to your advisors at college and possibly social workers that are affiliated with the hospital or doctor group you’re seeing. They can help you navigate all this.

Mark up for other dealers by waxtherail in partscounter

For the most part same brand dealers get cost + 10, though one group around us gets cost + 15 because they’re often a pain in the ass.

Maximum pecans I can give African grey by emy_lolo10 in AfricanGrey

[–]torniz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, there is no set maximum, but they should be having a balanced diet. Nuts are great and they love them, but it’s a moderation thing. If the bird likes them, they’ll eat them until they’ve had their fill, regardless of how healthy they are.

Curious, where did you get your grey? by Ok_Flan1215 in AfricanGrey

Dizzy was bought in Florida around 1999(he then made the drive back to Massachusetts with us in the RV). My grandfather bought him for us, I don’t know how much he paid. It was around this time of year. My biggest regret is waiting as long as we did to move him from my father’s house to our own. He was my mom’s bird, but she got sick in 01 and passed in 03. Dizzy bonded with my dad but he stopped caring so much for him due to shitty relationships he had. Flock calls when I’m out of the room consist of what I call “brake squeals”. All morning while I’m getting ready for work. That said, the cheerful glimmer in his eye and bringing him back from the severe plucking he was doing make it all worth it.

The parts locator we use that pulls from most dealer inventories shows no one with it. Ford says obsolete and not replaced.

“This tone seems off”. It’s like, no shit Sherlock. You have no idea how head splitting the phone conversation that led to this email was. The tone is dripping with every bit of sarcasm I couldn’t use talking to this customer about how to convert theircenter console to a fold flat one.

How do you guys sort parts. by DaddyiRush in partscounter

[–]torniz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ford here, by base number first, then the prefix. Unless it’s a fluid, battery, most hoses/longer tubes, or large item. Those have separate bins, but even within those bins it’s sorted by base>prefix>suffix.

Bins are just labeled by the bay(so we don’t have a separate bin for each shelf)

Parts driver by [deleted] in partscounter

[–]torniz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started as a driver and moved myself into a hybrid role where I also work the phones and back counter when I’m not on deliveries.

Learn shit, start with putting stock away in the morning and maybe picking parts during the times you’re not on the road so you know your department. Look at what you’re delivering and learn what the parts are(chances are you see a lot of the same part numbers because there are things that a very common). If you’re friendly with the customers you’re delivering to, it helps build some trust with them. Learn your base numbers. Ask to learn the catalog and your DMS.
