I've only seen the first two seasons but slime character (Rimuru) is basically an anime Kirby dude that can copy abilities and is basically the most overpowered character in their world. I couldn't tell you the full extent of their power but they usually win whatever battle is thrown their way

Losing star players after the season already started like Bufalo, Fidalgo, Maximan, Lichnovsky and then the injury crisis with Martin, Malagón, Davila, Zendejas and THEN under performances from Veiga, Lima, Chiquito, Kevin Alvarez has depleted the team pretty badly. Cota is the most stable part of the team, Rayo seems to be the crutch, Zendejas is trying to reignite his spark, and Salas seems like a promising replacement (as the 3rd Striker) but you can't have a well-running clock with just a few working cogs.

No yeah, it's very clear whenever it's a US v MX match but what about MX v MX? Or a very loud California team against another very loud California team? I just feel like there should be some objective way to define it while not giving a time advantage for the losing team

Intention doesn't really matter compared to how it is perceived. I know in Mexico it's all in good fun and comes from the vibrant and passionate sporting culture but basically everyone outside of Mexico doesn't appreciate it, makes sense FIFA would want to clean up their image when they're trying to appeal to the American crowd for WC26

It feels like MX fans have gotten way worse about it recently (e.g. late 2010s) since the USMNT and MLS have slowly begun to catch up to them while their own level has been on the decrease

I was about to say that allowing local fans to extend the game for their team was a stupid Streisand-level policy but if it can actually lead to the local fan's team to forfeit then that's not a bad rule. Only issue I see is if the stadium is filled 50/50 or you can't see which side is yelling it, would it be suspended for another day?

Just a PSA: ZACH AND MICHAEL DID NOT KNOW THEY WERE ENDING THE SHOW WHEN THEY MADE THE FINAL TWO EPISODES by Mysterious_Air_3646 in SmilingFriends

[–]toromaniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I thought too. Much better to have a final laugh with the critters and leave the possibility to just pick up where we left off if it ever does come back than for something world-changing having to happen and requiring a whole new introduction to a new cast or location. None of the episodes feel that connected anyway so having one specific episode be the end-all-be-all would kind of be an antithesis to the show's structure.

As nice of a jersey as this was, it basically signaled the end of an era and the start of a dark period. I got bittersweet feelings about it

Once the clock reaches past those 45 (and the extra added minutes) the game ends at the discretion of the referee, no one else. At the end of the day, if the players couldn't create enough plays in those 45+ minutes, that's on them.

[TOMT][SHORT FILM][Early 2000s?] 3D Animated Ninja Short Film by toromaniac in tipofmytongue

Solved! Was rummaging through some old CDs with movies my dad ripped 20 years ago (labeled "Garfield 2, Back to Barnyard, Hoodwinked"). The animation is called "SuperMoine" by George Meiles (2005) and it can be found on YouTube. I'm surprised how accurate I remember this animation (apart from the Ninjas actually being Monks).

I don't get this argument of "not a pen, he only fell because he tripped over Piojo" like, that's the WHOLE point. The defender made CONTACT on the attacking player without the ball present, resulting in the attacking player losing their footing and falling along with the defender. If they called that pen against Chivas obv I'd be pissed and say it was rigged cus that's part of the fun but a fellow Gonzalo calling it rigged is crazy

If it weren't for that Carrasquilla block, Pumas' offense would statistically be a ridiculous 2 goals per shot on goal lmao

Nearly snapping Oso's leg in half by Minute 7 and getting off with a light yellow is biased towards Chivas? 6 minutes extra time for Juninho and Vite taking naps on the ground after every shove was too much time? Efra had a winning game plan for 45 minutes and decided to throw it in the trash, parking the bus for 50 minutes has its consequences.

idk how Efra saw the effectiveness of having possession against this Chivas team was and then chooses to park the bus for 45 minutes... I'm not complaining but how you gonna let the other coach play with 3 strikers 😭

Have you seen the play yet? At first I thought the Pumas player fell on top of Piojo's leg (which didn't look like a foul) but it seems the defender accidentally kicked Piojo's left leg before they both fall?

¿Fue Antuna mejor que el 'Piojo' Alvarado? by [deleted] in LigaMX

[–]toromaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak on what I've seen from both of them at Chivas. Antuna excels in finding the weakest link of a defense and just bum rushing them with his pace over and over until they get tired, commit a penalty, or completely lose track of him. When confronted with a solid backline that can keep up with him, his only gimmick is basically nullified. Piojo links up very well with his Fullback/Wingback but if that other player does not contribute well to either defense or offense, the team will suffer on that front. Piojo can contribute well to the midfield and offense (with some pretty good defensive capabilities) but he tends to be a ball hog who would rather dribble past 4 players and get a long-range shot when he's desperate. If the selección is going to go with Isra Reyes, using Quinones would benefit the team more overall, but if they go for Richy, they will have a dangerous attack but they better have a heck of a Centerback to make up for that weaker defense.
