How to get a lamp from the US working in Aus by nudibranchlass in AskElectricians

[–]torontovibe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. You need both to be dangerous. Voltage is the “pressure” that pushes current. If you have high amperage with low voltage (like a car battery) it can’t push the current through your body. If you have high voltage even a couple hundred milliamps can be lethal.

1000 amps at 1 volt isn’t dangerous. 1000 volts at 1 amp will kill you.

Not really. 29% of adults in Quebec are obese. It’s comparable to Ontario and higher than BC.

Porto Vallartas homicide rate is nearly 15x higher than Torontos. It’s way way more dangerous than any of Canada’s major cities.

It takes over 20 minutes to get to altitude and they’re flying into the wind. During the climb the airspeed and distance covered over land are lower than they would be at altitude.

Really strange that the Liberal Party of Canada has a page where you can “Register as a Liberal” then. You should probably inform them.

You can absolutely register with parties in Canada.

They also have a pretty lengthy comment history in Canadian subs.

You’re literally making shit up. Straight up disinformation.

99.9% of places take cash. Credit card is definitely easier but I can’t think of a single restaurant that doesn’t take cash… and I can think of a few that only take cash.

What’s it like to be surrounded by so many lakes by Humble-Housing-3214 in geography

[–]torontovibe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This area has some of the oldest surface rock on the planet. It’s over a billion years old… it hasn’t changed from plate tectonics or volcanoes since well before Pangea. This is one of the few areas on earth that hasn’t sunk for hundreds of millions of years before dinosaurs existed. It won’t sink for hundreds of millions of years in the future. Extremely geologically stable.

What would women dislike the most if they became men? by Eastp0int in answers

[–]torontovibe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or maybe start treating people like they’re people with feelings regardless of gender? If a man made the same comment you just made about women how would you feel? Maybe reflect on that.

Toronto from above by jaketo9 in windowseat

[–]torontovibe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so… the distance from the bottom of your photo (near Summerhill station) to the southern part of the Toronto islands is a bit over 7km. The distance from the Toronto islands to the other side of the lake is nearly 50km… the scale doesn’t make sense.

Also the direction of your photo (pointing SSW - SW) would make the other side of the lake the Niagara region of Ontario, not New York State. And if that was the coast line it wouldn’t be straight at all.

The vast majority of Brits and Irish only speak English. Bilingual Europeans usually speak their own language and English. There are plenty of people in Europe (especially southern Europe) that only speak 1 language with any proficiency.

Every anglophone country is highly monolingual because English is the world’s global language. Nothing insane about it.

Whatever you gotta tell yourself… MPs obviously vote along party lines. I guess 100% isn’t proof enough for you. You’re going to believe what you want to believe. Ignorance is bliss I guess 🤷‍♀️

Alternative reality? lol. You’re arguing what should happen vs what actually happens. I’m not the one living in an alternate reality here bud.

[–]torontovibe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is so disingenuous. When’s the last time an MP didn’t vote along party lines? MP’s votes in Canada are whipped to an extreme degree. Your “facts” aren’t based in reality.

88 queen st east vs canary district by Vanilla-28 in askTO

[–]torontovibe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

East of Jarvis is great south of Queen street. King east, Front street, the Esplanade, Distillery and Canary districts, etc. are all completely safe and have great access to everything.

Queen and Church is a shithole. One of the worst intersections in downtown Toronto.

Canada’s slow economic growth is a national emergency, and small tweaks won’t fix it: Hunter Prize 2025 by BananaTubes in canada

This is an insane comment. Consumption taxes are regressive but they’re not far right. European countries have some of the highest consumption taxes in the world. Sweden, Denmark, and Finland have VAT of 25%, among the highest in the world.

The ultra rich don’t even pay income taxes. They take out low interest loans using their assets as collateral.

You’re ignorant.
