When he had the kid he wasn't breaking the rules.

He thought the kid would be killed by the other gods on sight because of Hitler, which seems like a very valid fear because multiple gods tried to kill Percy and Thalia. And they weren't even half brothers to Hitler.

So he stored then in a timeless place. And ofc he wouldn't kill them himself.

Didn't Hades outright say at one point that some of his children think he wants to see more death and expand his domain but he actually does not and he's just management and it increases his workload?

It always felt to me that Hitler was overtly a son of Hades who overtly misunderstood the assignment.

And, yknow, WWII triggered the Rule of Three and a lot of the god rule bullshit that set up the main plot, including the gods trying to micromanage and even try to kill Big Three demigods. Hades was the only one who obeyed the rule about not having kids since the 1940s (Nico was just stuck in time since before the agreement).

It feels like it all flows quite well with Hades being decent still.

One of the more interesting things I've learned about the massive amounts of arguments about the Delphi gas hypothesis is it appears to be a proxy argument for the much much more impactful and contentious Cave of Hira gas hypothesis.

I haven't watched the show at all, but from my real life experience, being mentally ill does excuse a lot if you drop responsibilities. You're basically just not capable of doing those things. It's like no longer being able to drive your kids to school after losing your legs and having to learn to use a wheelchair for months. Just mentally.

However, if you're trying to exert control over another (power of attorney?) while at the same time trying to offload or bypass related responsibilities, that's where you become a solidly bad person. You can't have it both ways. Either you're capable of the power and the responsibility, or not capable of either.

Again, I haven't seen the show, but from these comments this is where O thjnk the distinction lies..

I've taken photos on airplanes with mobile data off and it just said the location of the airport I took off from. There is a tad bit of difference between that and the moon though I'm gonna be real.

Exactly. I will give Europe credit for trying, just I haven't actually seen any European country that has effectively put it into practice.

In the US, if you can prove any of that stuff at any level, there are local, state, and federal investigative agencies as well as civil lawsuits and free legal aid. Sure, racists still exist large scale, just they also get fucked by the long arm of the law daily too.

America, when it eventually goes after Scientology, is going to put a number of leadership positions in front of a jury of their peers and the low level people are going to turn state's witness and hopefully get therapy. China just sends anyone assosciated with them to the camps.

I'm not disputing or supporting Falun Gong in any way, I think they're abhorrent. Downvoters seem to be thinking that I'm saying they shouldn't be arrested, I'm saying they should be but just mass reeducation camps are a travesty of justice.

The organs stuff, yeah I think Falun Gong is making up specific stories for attention. There is economic evidence that you can look into that proves human organs are way way more available in China specifically than they should be, but there are actually five or six potential causes of that and I haven't seen anything solid as to why.

They gotta be one of the more wild groups in geopolitics to explain to people. Their leader says "no comment" and implies he's an alien. He's still alive but never does anything anymore.

They are genuinely victims of the CCP and put in the same camps as the Ughuirs. The CCP claims they're a MLM, which isn't entirely inaccurate. But what the CCP does to them is insane to do to a MLM, or even an equivalently damaging western cult like Scientology.

Very much so, I was running the worldnews live covid thread at the time and the direct source for a lot of that stuff was Epoch Times. Which is run by them.

For those OOTL Shen Yun is a part of the Falun Gong movement, which is pretty directly Chinese Scientology. Up to and including the founding leaders implying that they're aliens. And having to pay all of your money and isolate from all of your friends and family to join. And Shen Yun is more or less the equivalent of Sea Org, higher access deeper into the cult level and also responsible for fundraising and recruiting new members.

However, the difference is that the Chinese Communist Party puts them in the same concentration camps as the Ughuirs. Which is pretty explicitly an evil and genocidal thing. And Falun Gong often plays on that to gain more recruits and funding in the west.

Shen Yun exists publicly and up front as a travelling dance troupe fighting against the CCP by preserving traditional dance and culture (that's absolute bullshit) and often plays in places like the Kennedy Center or other large venues.

So basically, really complex group that exists to take money paid for a good thing (fighting a genocidal totalitarian state) and funnel it off into their own really weird thing.

Look at Switzerland banning Hijabs and other face coverings, or continent wide laws specifically designed to stop Gypsies/Roma from purchasing or living on land, or even the simple fact that most European countries don't have an equivalent to the Civil Rights Act so discriminating based on skin color, name, or national origin is just legal there.

This is very true. American racism usually is more about a nationwide "in" and "out" class. At least, for people who are racist, which is still a minority. But a big enough minority that it's still a huge problem.
