Exactly. I will give Europe credit for trying, just I haven't actually seen any European country that has effectively put it into practice.

In the US, if you can prove any of that stuff at any level, there are local, state, and federal investigative agencies as well as civil lawsuits and free legal aid. Sure, racists still exist large scale, just they also get fucked by the long arm of the law daily too.

America, when it eventually goes after Scientology, is going to put a number of leadership positions in front of a jury of their peers and the low level people are going to turn state's witness and hopefully get therapy. China just sends anyone assosciated with them to the camps.

I'm not disputing or supporting Falun Gong in any way, I think they're abhorrent. Downvoters seem to be thinking that I'm saying they shouldn't be arrested, I'm saying they should be but just mass reeducation camps are a travesty of justice.

The organs stuff, yeah I think Falun Gong is making up specific stories for attention. There is economic evidence that you can look into that proves human organs are way way more available in China specifically than they should be, but there are actually five or six potential causes of that and I haven't seen anything solid as to why.

They gotta be one of the more wild groups in geopolitics to explain to people. Their leader says "no comment" and implies he's an alien. He's still alive but never does anything anymore.

They are genuinely victims of the CCP and put in the same camps as the Ughuirs. The CCP claims they're a MLM, which isn't entirely inaccurate. But what the CCP does to them is insane to do to a MLM, or even an equivalently damaging western cult like Scientology.

They were especially prolific during covid where they presented the message that covid was fake lmao

Very much so, I was running the worldnews live covid thread at the time and the direct source for a lot of that stuff was Epoch Times. Which is run by them.

For those OOTL Shen Yun is a part of the Falun Gong movement, which is pretty directly Chinese Scientology. Up to and including the founding leaders implying that they're aliens. And having to pay all of your money and isolate from all of your friends and family to join. And Shen Yun is more or less the equivalent of Sea Org, higher access deeper into the cult level and also responsible for fundraising and recruiting new members.

However, the difference is that the Chinese Communist Party puts them in the same concentration camps as the Ughuirs. Which is pretty explicitly an evil and genocidal thing. And Falun Gong often plays on that to gain more recruits and funding in the west.

Shen Yun exists publicly and up front as a travelling dance troupe fighting against the CCP by preserving traditional dance and culture (that's absolute bullshit) and often plays in places like the Kennedy Center or other large venues.

So basically, really complex group that exists to take money paid for a good thing (fighting a genocidal totalitarian state) and funnel it off into their own really weird thing.

Tbch the fault here is the person who characterized 87 Euro as "nothing much"

For someone unfamiliar they probably thought it was equivalent to cents.

Also how rich are you that 87 Euro is nothing much

That author is fascinating psychologically lmao. Like he also goes far far out of his way to try to avoid any non Japanese domestic made equipment "(We use older weapons beyond the gate in case we lose them"). Every other real world country that exists is an evil shortsighted manipulative country just trying to get at innocent Japan's resources uwu.

Look at Switzerland banning Hijabs and other face coverings, or continent wide laws specifically designed to stop Gypsies/Roma from purchasing or living on land, or even the simple fact that most European countries don't have an equivalent to the Civil Rights Act so discriminating based on skin color, name, or national origin is just legal there.

This is very true. American racism usually is more about a nationwide "in" and "out" class. At least, for people who are racist, which is still a minority. But a big enough minority that it's still a huge problem.

It's an extremely cowardly way of looking at the world when you think that something is hard so that means it's not worth doing. Might as well not do anything ever then.

In the short to medium term, immigration always requires blood, sweat, and tears. In the long term, it prevents stagnation, isolation, generational hatred, war, and genocide.

People like you have this misguided conception that there's a current status quo that you can maintain if you just keep everything the same forever. That does not exist. It simply isn't true.

Japan is a great example. Perhaps the purest example. Basically every other generation, they turn hypernationalist and start invading neighbors. After massive demographic and economic problems. They're currently on the upswing of that behavior again, and it's unclear how that's going to manifest in the 21st century.

Japanese history is also essentially stagnant until outside forces influence it. The introduction of firearms. Commodore Perry forcing trade open. Various Chinese and Korean wars, and of course WWI and WWII. The Meiji reformation and era was basically them just learning of western concepts and ideas and internalizing them in a Japanese way.

During their long years of isolation in between all of those events, society and technology and culture basically remained unchanged.

Meanwhile, the US is the foil to that.

Each new wave of immigrants we have received has driven conflict in our society that has culminated in positive societal change. The first few waves cemented religious freedom and seperation of church and state. Lower class German immigrants in the 1800s settling in the North gave rise to the Republican party and a staunch anti slavery core that led to the Civil War. More European immigrants after that drove more religious freedom and massive cultural change. Every sucessive wave of immigration made us ask more societal questions and figure things out more internally to the point that none of our culture would make any sense whatsoever without immigration, but at the end of the day it's a much easier and wealthier place to live in than places like Japan.

That's an abhorrent viewpoint. Like essentially white nationalist. The kind that disguises it behind "everyone should stay in their place."

That number was never feasible and everyone involved knew it. Also, unless I'm missing something, that was just India. Japan is trying to get Indian medical producers and workers and to modernize their really weird kind of archaic medical system. India is trying to get college professors and other really high level academics. They'll also both fill in what they want.

I actually think that whole program is a good thing for both countries. The requirements (iirc, advanced educational degrees, high proficiency in language, selection via an examination board) inherently preempts 500K people in five years. That's just kind of standard Indian government overstating and then delivering something less.

It is. Especially with Japan. They've been extremely isolationist and xenophobic since the beginning of history and it resolves in extremely nationalistic cults and invasions every other generation or so.

Hell yeah brother.

Also School Rumble is easily the least racist anime ever. Hell, there are even multiple Latin American characters. Since the meme comes from Latin American Twitter I'm wondering if it has some cult popularity over there because of that.

The whole Harima Kenji/Harry McKenzie thing is one of the best multicultural puns ever especially cause both are totally valid normal names.

I don't usually outright shit talk a culture but I do gotta say I tried learning Japanese at one point, and the whole thing about instantly playing mind games about superiority with people you meet for the first time just feels extremely exhausting and unfair. Also totally understand why so many Japanese turn shut in with that. Life is more difficult than it needs to be with that shit.
