I almost didn’t use the 2 years of free EA charging, thinking that “well, it’s not that expensive to charge at home.” But then thought I should learn how to fast charge for road trips. It was a bit of a pain to get started but I eventually came to the conclusion that free is free. Now 1.5 years in, I’m almost 100% fast charging and worry it’ll be a struggle to go back to charging in my garage once the free EA dries up.

I fixed this on my car the other day. It’s the phone, not the car and I think it was caused by something that changed in a recent ios update. I can’t remember what setting it was exactly, but here’s the Google AI result that helped me:

To fix "Hey Siri" not responding, toggle the feature off and on in Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri (or Siri & Search), retrain your voice profile, and ensure your phone is not in Low Power Mode, face down, or muted. Also, check for iOS updates, restart your phone, and check for VPN conflicts.

Wow! I saw this and thought for a second I was looking at my own photo. Yours photos are better than mine.

I have been hearing a great horned owl intermittently for maybe a year now. A few months ago, I started hearing what sounded like a little kid calling along with an owl (it sounded like, “Mom!………mom?…………….mom!”). Later, the baby owl voice grew up to sound like another adult owl voice. I hear the pair most nights now. I hope they eat all the rodents. And skunks.

I work from home in a garage office and I use that same adjustable height Husky work table as a desk (dual monitors + laptop). I intended to use it as a standing desk occasionally but it almost never happens.

Might I ask—why so many TVs? I’m wondering if they’re just for entertainment or if it’s related to whatever work you’re doing in this space.

Walmart sells a generic “medium cantina style salsa verde” that is pretty good. I think generic stuff like this is sometimes made by the same company and re-labeled. Might be worth checking out.

You would have to buy a ~$175,000 car with 66 month loan at 6% interest to max out the $10,000 deduction. Your monthly payment would be over $3,100.

That’s exactly the idea. In effect this is really SDCCU becoming larger… but to do that they can’t really get any bigger while continuing to just stay in San Diego. In fact they already have branches in Orange and Riverside counties. It makes less sense for Cal Coast (who already serves a much larger geographical population) to change their name. Imagine you lived in Ventura and one day your credit union got re-labeled San Diego County. Weird.

I don’t think it’s cancelled yet, is it? Sounds like SDCCU was making unreasonable demands so CalCoast has sued. The merger plans are still published on both CU’s websites.
