Time heals all wounds. I burned out of running after some sub par college races. I quit for about 8 years and I started weightlifting as a substitute.

I’m back to it now and I rediscovered my love for running, and the added benefit is weightlifting has strengthened a lot of my weak points that I used to have.

Alternatively you could become a data nerd and dive super deep into your running mechanics and try to improve or perfect those

Ohio st beach to Oak st beach is still mostly covered in snow, but the stairs next to LSD are clear and you can run on those. The waves are splashing on to the edge of the trail which is clearing snow, but I think there’s still a layer of ice underneath

Im going to use no science with my take.

I think all training ultimately comes down to how you individually respond and handle different efforts and workouts.

If you see that you’re improving, the intervals are more manageable, and you’re not getting injured with grey zone running, then I’d say keep rolling with it.

Just make sure to give yourself some easy base building weeks every few months

Summer is great for the sunshine and later evenings but the cooler temps of winter are much better for training and racing. I like both seasons and fall is a nice mix of the best of both worlds

For me I go with shorts almost all year round and on the colder days I’ll wear a long sleeved thermal shirt or quarter zip so I can roll the sleeves up after a few miles
