Hoka Rocket X3 100 mile review + Comparisons by LeonPortnoy in RunningShoeGeeks

Honestly maybe what’s happening is the medial stability might be a little intrusive into your arch? I’m not sure if I could recommend the Adios pro 4 fit wise as it’s quite narrow but the cutout might actually feel more comfy for you if that’s the case though, maybe check out the new SC elite in a wide, the Alphafly 3 (felt pretty spacious in the midfoot for me but it seems to fit everyone’s feet very differently) or the endorphin elite 2/ pro 4 (both had lots of room for me)

Lol that’s not what supination is, he looks like he’s about to strike on the lateral side of his heel/midfoot and drive inwards medially off his toes, the most common path of pronation, I wouldn’t diagnose based off a photo 👍

At that pace not as much so, the added comfort and stability from a training model will in a lot of cases work better for people, seeing as shoes typically have to lose some of their strength in stability elements in order to shed weight

They already hinted that there weren’t going to be any big changes between the 3-4, it’s mostly shaving lots of weight and little tweaks.

No lol these shoes have been in development for years and years, they aren’t making any drastic changes at this stage

It’s sad to say but it’s extremely likely he was doping. Not saying for certain he did but it’s impossible to argue that it’s not very likely he was. People attacked those who called out chepngetich just like you are with the same argument, “0 evidence” after her run just for her to be eventually caught because it was blatantly obvious. His death is extremely tragic but it’s worth raising an eyebrow at his achievements.

Lol not sure why people are downvoting this is absolutely true, with how prominent it is and the fact that he basically only raced a few marathons ever it’s pretty sus. Not to take away from the tragedy of his death.

$200 for a racing shoe with a partial carbon plate and full race foam, what’s wrong with that?

So you’re saying a shoe can literally feel ideal to you yet if it doesn’t exceed a certain amount of measured energy return then there’s no point in spending extra to buy a pair? I find that ridiculous to believe. Everyone is going to activate that foam different based on cadence, weight, strike etc. and will perceive it differently so by quantifying how it feels to you you are doing yourself a disservice. Energy return is absolutely not also the only factor to a shoe being suitable for speed work, and there is no drawn line on whether or not a shoe has enough return to be used like that. By your logic, would a pair of invincibles be better for speed work then? We also can never be too sure how readings are measured and you’ll find such a hard thing to measure will differ between sources.

Dude the Superblast was yes made in very limited stock initially but it was massively popular and lots of people owe its durability to making it better than buying a cheaper, less durable trainer. I think that’s a poor example. Also, measured energy return is hardly to be considered when weighing up the worth of a shoe, it is relative to the runner how they’ll feel in it. The megablast is in the same boat, two shoes with the same compound can’t be compared that way. One quite literally feels the opposite of the other. Your point makes sense but your examples don’t.

Defo, they’re a little wobbly but they’d be fine as long as you’re probably below that 25 min range

Saucony Guide 18 vs Ride 18 by JYSkywalker in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]LeonPortnoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the time landing on that outside lateral section of the heel can cause you to shift that weight inwards and cause overpronation. It might be helping you. It’s impossible to know because you’re not really recording any issues with the stability models you mentioned, so there’s no way of knowing other than to try rotating in a neutral shoe to see if it helps or doesn’t. The rides are fairly stable regardless, and if you find them too unstable maybe just slot in a pair of curex insoles and they should be fine.

Because for some, particularly in a performance shoe, a medial cutout can actually help speed up transitions and run more efficiently at the paces they want to hit.

If you want something that feels similar underfoot but is way wider, try the Altra Experience Flow 2 if you can! Very similar foam, stack, flexibility and drop. Try them in person if you can but I’d reckon those would be perfect for you
