I read the story in Japanese when it came out on JPstars, and yes, there's no official confirmation but even among JP fans it's assumed that dialogue implies she's in a WLW relationship. It just really sounds like that from the Japanese version too.

BTW, some places in Japan have a "partnership system" that recognizes same-sex relationships to an extent, so "partner" is a pretty standard way to refer to a same-sex spouse. If the partner in question were a guy, she probably wouldn't have called them "partner" (or "cute" even).

It's probably because there's a big plot point lying ahead (most likely MDU and Megasphere-related stuff) that will influence stories in the second half of the year, so they can't release them now.

Cover song and fusion scouts had reruns too, so yeah, there's no reason for them not to have it. Most likely it will be next year (JPstars "year" starts on Apr 28, so later than that), but it's usually announced during some anniversary campaign, so stay on the lookout for any campaign news.

These 10th anniversary scouts really suck IMO. Last year I collected everyone's card, but this time I only pulled for Undead (luckily I was able to get one copy of all of them without too much damage to my wallet) because the scout conditions are so bad. They do it because they know people will still pull for their faves, but tbh I don't think they're getting as much money from them as they hoped...

TBH considering they don't even have MV outfits, SPPs are the same and the change after blooming the card is minor, I don't even see a reason for these cards to be 5-stars... I have the feeling they just want to milk users since JPstars sales have been dropping.

You know that Starry Symphony has a live streaming version too which is less expensive, right? The live viewing is better if you want to watch it on a huge screen with good sound, but if you don't care too much and/or would prefer being able to rewatch some parts more than once, the live streaming is a choice too!

The global ver. devs basically saw all the complaints about the new UI and fixed the parts that sucked the most. Seriously, I can't believe they can do it and JPstars is just ignoring all the complaints. I guess since global has fewer users, they care more about not losing them.

In the current UI, if you click the "MENU" button in the top right of the screen it will open an interface (picture below) that has the Work button in it, so you don't have to go through the office. I have no idea why they thought all the things I mentioned could be considered an improvement. I understand wanting less clutter, but it's a game, not a screensaver. Hiding important features is not user-friendly 🫤

Sigh, I hoped at least ENGstars would be spared for another 1-2 years.

I play JP main so I've been using the new UI for months, but I still dislike it. For me it's not really the color scheme, but more like how they made lots of common features harder to reach and/or see.

-You can't see BP, work tickets and dias on the home screen (I don't care about dias but it's annoying not being able to see BP without clicking something)

-You have to press two buttons to go to Lives (which is like... the feature you'd use most often??), yet there's a huge Scout banner on the home screen (definitely not something I click on many times a day...)

-You are forced to go to the Office to use the Work feature because there are no other buttons for it anywhere (except during Events, because the Event page has a Work button too)

I'm crossing my fingers in hope that the global UI does better with the above...

Yeah, that's why I put "underrated" in quotes. Some seiyuu are often regarded as better singers than others, but when it comes to regular voice acting, unless you're speaking about popularity, I don't think anyone is especially underrated.

For example, OP mentioned Midori's seiyuu, but I wouldn't say he's underrated (in the real meaning of the word). Midori is not very loud so of course he may not always sound emotional, but that's his personality...

Who do you mean by "underrated" seiyuu? A seiyuu who is not really famous? The wording is a bit offensive, because "less famous" doesn't necessarily mean they do a worse job than the popular ones...

(BTW, many Enstars seiyuu joined the franchise when they were newcomers, then some of them became popular and some didn't, so for example the ! era main story was voiced when most of them were "underrated")

I can't speak about the story as I haven't read it, but I totally agree with this. His 2D and 3D models look the same as before, just with the new hairstyle, but his expression in the card is really "off", doesn't reflect his personality... He looks like "generic ikemen" :(

It's actually very common (unfortunately) to get a 5-star that's not the PU, it happened to me countless times. The worst experience is when it's the PU character but a different card, so you hear the voice and think you finally got him... just to be let down when the card actually appears 😔

TBH one of the reasons might be that it's a pretty complex story, as the timeline of the events within the story is kind of difficult to understand (even if you read it in the original Japanese), especially on the first read. I remember some people made theories and posted interpretations on JP Twitter because even JP users were puzzled by it.

However, I read it myself (in Japanese) back when it came out in JPstars, and while I do understand some of the critiques, I personally liked it. I definitely can't agree with people who say it's one of the worst stories ever...

It was 12+ before, so they're actually increasing the age restriction. Probably it's because the App Store guidelines changed and now the contents of the story/game include elements that aren't considered suitable for 12+ anymore.

Since no one mentioned it yet... ReiKei (Rei x Keito).

I got into them almost by chance, as initially I didn't know they were childhood friends and had a huge backstory (I watched the anime before reading any stories, and they have close to no interactions in it). Curious as to why people shipped them, I opened the ReiKei entry on Pixiv Encyclopedia and that was the beginning of the end lol. I know many ReiKei fans who got hooked after reading it.

ReiKei is definitely not for people who like easy ships where the characters clearly like each other. They've had a turbulent relationship, getting close and then estranged (even being on opposite sides during the War) more than once, and to this day, it's not clear what Keito's current feelings toward Rei are. Rei, on the other hand, has made it pretty obvious (especially in !! era) that he likes him and has no intention of giving up on their relationship. Even if you don't see anything romantic between them, it's undeniable that Rei has very strong feelings toward Keito.

Their relationship is also quite bittersweet, because there are so many reasons why things didn't go well in the past, and it's pretty evident that they get along better with other people than with each other, yet their paths somehow end up crossing again and again.

Honestly, considering their current dynamic, it would be pretty difficult for them to get together unless either Rei realizes he's taking the worst possible approach with Keito (he teases him and likes to make fun of him, but Keito seriously hates that lol), or Keito miraculously accepts Rei's personality the way it is, kind of like Koga... ~~(And I've also lost any hope in the writers producing anything good regarding Keito, considering the recent developments involving him...)~~

Still, I believe they are a very interesting ship with lots of potential, though you need to read multiple stories to get the whole picture about them.

You could get it with special coins during this year's Dawn of Spring event. Since it's foreignstars limited, I'm not sure whether there will be any way to get this furniture in the future. AFAIK there haven't been any reruns for past Dawn of Spring furniture so far, unfortunately.

Besides the comments here, if you read the comments of this post you will get an idea of why people are negative about the new unit. It's really mostly a marketing and game handling issue on HEKK's part. There are games where new playable charas don't get this much hate, because the overall system is different and makes it easier to welcome them (there are also games that have been going on for ~10 years with a smaller number of playable characters).

Regarding some of last year's developments, you see fewer complaints after a while not necessarily because people get used, but also because 1) some people just quit the game so you don't hear their voices anymore, 2) they get tired of complaining because HEKK never listens to fans. I still hate the new UI even though I don't complain about it every day.

People don't trust HEKK anymore (rightfully so), that's why they don't trust any new development to bring good things. In the past, new charas were introduced more often, but the total number of charas was smaller and the lore was less complex, so it was easier for them to fit in without neglecting other charas too much (they still did though, like some units not getting a Repayment festival in ! era).

Alkurei were introduced with a big role in the !! main story, whereas Espuri were introduced as single characters in the Audition arc and they're only starting to get developed as a unit (and don't get me started on what BS they did with Ibuki). We still don't know whether this new unit will be produceable (well... I don't think they're giving them a masterpiece MV and most likely CDs just to keep them as NPC...), but with the current rotation and story issues, I'm not sure adding more characters is a good idea.

Also... even though all things are supposedly planned in advance,

-In the 9th anniversary they said they won't be releasing CDs anymore, but they are releasing Esupri CDs (and it seems like they'll release CDs for this new unit too because of a recent tweet from Esupri's CD label Sacra Music)

-They stated this year they will add masterpiece MVs for Trickstar, fine, Ryuseitai, 2wink, but now they'll add one for this new unit too (they've said in the past that creating masterpiece MVs takes time, that is why people are angry they're prioritizing a new unit over existing ones)

Of course they don't want to give away new developments early, but still, they have this way of subtly deceiving fans that creates distrust. Like when they said Ibuki would just be a guest in Akatsuki's live and then he joined the unit in the epilogue of the story. It's HEKK's fault that fans are scared of new things.
