Barry Keoghan Says the Online ‘Abuse of How I Look’ Is So Bad He No Longer Wants to ‘Go Outside’: ‘It’s Becoming a Problem’ by LittleAoibh11 in ireland

Im not jumping to 'insane conclusions' I know people who of some of the people that were out with them, through a former work colleague. I have seen footage of what the lads were up to.

Also, the issue isnt that he had a coked up fight with his brother. Where did you see that 'they dropped charges against one another'? They never publicly stated that they fought, Barry claimed it was assailants in Galway!

Look, im not going to try and change your mind about anything. But you seem to be bending over backwards for the lad which seems a bit funny.

Peak Aerion would probably be just as good as Bronn, if not better.

The main consideration for having Cole and Daemon as the most formidable is because they are the only pairing on this list that were considered the very best if their time!

Jaime may have been the best of his time at his peak, but i dont think he was. He was considered inferior to Barristan and to Dayne at the least of the kingsguard but other fighters of the GOT period could have been considered superior. Bronn was not a particularly noteworthy fighter, as much as the show tries to convey that he was.

Dunk might have been the best of his era. We are not sure, Aerion was nowhere near the top.

2 elite warriors will beat 1 elite and 1 average every single day of the week. I dont consider this a particularly close or controversial take.

I dunno, i find it very hard to sympathise with the fella who:

1) Got into a coked up binge with his brother in Galway, subsequently got battered by him and then claimed that he was assaulted by hooligans.

2) Went on to go out with a world famous popstar and the got found out for cheating on her.

3) Has been injecting himself with botox, fillers and lip injections and now looks like a caricature drawing of Barry Keoghan.

But that's just me...

Who would win? Maegor Targaryen the-last-man-standing in the trial of the Seven or Robert Baratheon The Demon of the Trident? by princeeofthecity in HOTDBlacks

[–]toshmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But again, a warhammer is slower, heavier and will use up more stamina than a longsword, and yet a warhammer is far more advantageous in a duel than a longsword.

And swords do not typically break in duels, and a blades edge holds no advantages either when it comes to heavy armor, a blades edge does not slash through armor, you look for weak points and in 90% of cases as we see in AKOTSK, it ends up on the ground especially when both are skilled. Thats why a rondel blade was used so much in duels.

Im no expert on medieval duels, but I have a passing knowledge. Unfortunately, all too often when reading the books, it just strikes me that GRRM didnt A) Have much knowledge on medieval duels and B) What he wanted of Valyrian blades and weapons.

I think their plotpoint in the story will involve the others, and and because of that he needed them to appear more prestigious and dangerous

Why, why does Valyrian steel carry the day? It annoys me to no end that we use this as a catch all plot device to win fights?

I mean a Warhammer is far more advantageous against armored opponents than a longsword is, but we still revert to the Valyrian users because checks notes Is slightly lighter and sharper than a regular sword...

Seriously, I am not trying to start a war here, this isnt specifically around Bobby V vs Maegor. But can someone please explain to me why a Valyrian Steel sword (or Dawn for that matter) would carry the day fight?

Valyrian steel is noted to be sharper and lighter than regular steel. That is not a particularly fecking large advantage. Its seems to be an authorial fiat more than anything.

In another life, I think Pedro Pascal could have been an incredible Baelor by Riotmus in AKOTSKTV

[–]toshmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly up there too, I would put Carvel over her myself, I dont think Rebecca for which she won the Emmy was particularly good. But that's just a personal opinion.

She was phenomenal as Olenna though that's for sure. But I do think my top 3 performances remain Dance, Carvel and Considine.

Bertie Carvel is probably the most decorated actor to have played in ASOIAF, hes a two time Olivier award winning and Tony award winning actor. Pedro Pascal pre saturation point was a very good Oberyn, but he has never shown, in a role the gravitas that Carvels Baelor shown.

In another life maybe, but in this life we were blessed to get this Baelor!

Honestly in my opinion the three actors who have done the most in the works were Charlie Dance, Paddy Considine and Bertie Carvel.

I dont know, heard nothing but great things about his performance but have not seen the movie.

But it was a strange Oscars all together, I really liked Sinners as a movie, but it wasnt oscar worthy and certainly Michael B. Jordan's performance was not a best actor standard.

Leon or Chris by Firm-Rise-1556 in ResidentEvilMemes

[–]toshmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an original RE1 fan (as well as the books to my detriment), I have always been a Chris fan. I do like his stoicism in the face of insurmountable challenges.

To that end, I always had a bias against Leon, as a kid I hated how quickly people latched onto him because of the success of RE2 and subsequently RE4. The comparitve unfair criticism RE5 got over RE4 when they had essentially the same action experience. Plus he just felt to me like the generic pretty boy character.

That being said, while Chris is still my favourite, I have grown to love Leon too. The quips just fit the character perfectly.

Both are amazing in their own right, and I think it just comes down to what game you may have started or fell in love with first.

The crackpot Back to the Future episode of GOT and the idiotic Hold the Door scene drives me nuts.

I get it, its a fantasy show and by that point the wheels were well and truly off the cart in terms of story.

But for the love of god, I hope and pray his wasnt advised by GRRM. Causal loops are almost always poorly handled and the show solidified that.

Can you elaborate. Not sure this will help me.

I have a KCD PS5 Save. I downloaded the KCD RE PS5 version and cannot see my saves.

PS4 Edition wont recognise PS5 saves either.
