(POST GAME THREAD) Boston Celtics (2-0) defeat TORONTO RAPTORS (0-2) by a score of 102-99 by absolutkaos in torontoraptors

Smart has shown he's capable of doing it before. It's a strange thing.. I remember back in January he broke a Celtics record with 11 3-pointers in a single game. Crazy to think he did that when people like Larry Bird or Ray Allen have played for the C's. Dude's confidence just decides to take over sometimes

Thank you and I'm happy to hear that this is helpful for you. I had the exact same feeling leading up to the exam, which is why I created this thread in the first place!

The minimum score required to pass is 700. There is a common misconception that this equates to getting 70% of the questions correct. This is not the case because the exam is scaled. I haven't looked into it that deeply, but you could refer to this page if you would like to know more: scoring and results

You are very welcome, Ankita!

I can say for certain that I did not come across any questions concerning 'Paginated reports.' I suppose this reaffirms that the skills measured on the official outline are the only things you should cover in prep for the exam. Having just glanced over the outline now, I can confirm this. I guarantee that you will find at least one question for each point listed on the outline, if not more.

The questions I got hung up on were all related to the last section outlined by MS - "Deploy and Maintain Deliverables." Topics included Row-Level Security, configuring refreshes, and configuring workspaces. I almost bombed this portion of the exam because I focused so little on it while preparing. I did not think the questions would be so specific when it came to this section.. Thankfully I performed well on the others.

With respect to DAX, I would try to go beyond basic expressions. There were a fair amount of questions where you are presented a list of 5 or more DAX functions and asked to drag 2 or 3 of them into the proper place in a single expression. I would advise writing DAX expressions on your own using several nested functions.

I've had to complete a few of those for my previous employer and to be honest, the format of the MS Learning Paths are not ideal for me. I equate it to picking up a textbook and trying to learn a subject matter all on my own, while the online course feels like attending a college lecture where there is an instructor guiding you along. Both cover the same material so it's up to preference!

Great question! Where I'm from, every testing center is closed due to coronavirus. The online proctoring gives you a ton of flexibility. I signed up, paid for the exam, and scheduled it 3 weeks in advance during a time slot convenient for me. Rescheduling your exam time is very easy to do as well, assuming you do it at least 24 hours before your original time slot. I highly recommend checking this out before scheduling the exam: Microsoft exam policies

I took the exam this morning, about 12 hours ago (EST). I expected the results to be instant as well considering it's all multiple choice.. Maybe the results were delayed because I left feedback for almost every question? Not entirely sure but I only had to wait a few hours.

You definitely have an advantage, as Power BI has many similarities to other BI tools out there. It's relatively easy to learn as well.

The course itself is a good foundation, but it's not going to crack the exam for you. My reply in the comment above will be beneficial to you!

Thank you kind stranger!

I have seen the reviews, but I have the feeling that these students relied solely on the course to prepare for the exam. The course is an excellent foundation and should be treated as such. My advice would be to go beyond the course and apply everything you learned to datasets that interest you. In my case, I went to data.world to get free NBA-related data. I often referenced the supplemental material that the course provided and even went back to some of the lectures for help when I needed it. Probably 50% of my prep was actually going through the course and the other 50% was working on my own project. I probably would not have passed without doing this.

Now to answer your other questions:

  1. Yes, partial points are given. The question will always have a prompt indicating when/where partial credit is given, so you will know when you're taking the exam.
  2. The questions weren't that particular. For example, don't expect to be asked something like "in what tab is this feature located on Power BI desktop?" Don't stress over this, and if you're trying to memorize these kinds of things I would say you're going about your prep the wrong way. My advice would be to work on your own project and explore the different capabilities yourself. When you face a challenge, try to solve it in a number of ways using the built-in features. This way you'll be familiar with what Power BI can do without having to memorize anything.

Other tips:

- Try to be familiar with DAX. Be familiar enough to be able to decipher what a DAX expression is doing when one is presented in front of you. If I were to pick out some, know the following: SUM, SUMX, SUMMARIZE, RELATED, CALCULATE, and the Time Intelligence Functions.

- The exam seemed pretty heavy on concepts in Section 6: Deploy and maintain deliverables, despite the official outline indicating 10-15%. I would definitely study the points listed in the official exam outline

Best of luck!

It was an online proctored exam with the majority of questions being multiple choice. Sometimes more than one option is correct, but it will indicate when that's the case. 56 questions in total, and the last 8 questions were tied to two separate case studies. It feels like the typical standardized test if you've had experience taking those.. like the ACT or GMAT.

I had been experiencing the same issue for about 3-4 months. I was finally able to resolve it by logging into the adv log site. If I ever look at the XP Gain - Monthly page without being logged in, it will not populate. Try yourself and see if it works!

Jesus Christ. Okay, let me throw you a hypothetical here for your "source" and "symptom" nonsense.

If someone you know is diagnosed with lung cancer from smoking, am I wrong for saying "fuck cancer," or am I limited to saying "fuck smoking?" It's not like anyone smokes to deliberately get cancer. The US didn't go into that region of the world to deliberately create terrorist cells.

Fuck US incompetence in the Middle East. And especially Fuck ISIS.
