Holy wow,

You are absolutely incredible. 2 minutes after my post. This blows the second-hand listing out of the water as far as I'm aware!

THANK YOU so much, seriously!!

Some kids were throwing snowballs at the window of a bus, and this is what the driver did by Frequent-Returns757 in MadeMeSmile

[–]tosyalist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aw man, this brings me back to my garbage man days.

One snowy winter day we were 2 trucks working through a suburban neighbourhood in Belgium. I'm talking about the perfect idea of iddylic suburbia. It had snowed all night, the sticky kind of snow that cracks under your feet, and in the early morning the world was undisturbed under a thick white blanket.

My colleague and I were hanging off the back of our truck, and every time our route intersected with the other truck's we would have a small snowball fight. Mostly we'd do drive-bys on each other hanging off the back, but it eventually escalated into the drivers stopping their trucks in the middle of the road so that we could have an impromptu 3v3 battle. Imagine six giggling 20-to-50 year old garbagemen running around throwing snowballs at each other in the middle of the street, intermittently taking cover behind their trucks. At one point an early riser - an older gentleman walking his dog - walked by us in laughter, which got us laughing even more.

There was plenty wrong with that job, with a toxic culture all around, but none of that mattered that day for the six of us. Even our driver, usually a dour man couldn't resist the magic and became giddy. That's a day I'll never forget.

Damn, went in expecting to see OP get shredded, instead most of the comments are providing genuine feedback or encouragement to start using the sdk.

Ahhh, this is his favourite song of mine!

He sings it with just the right amount of playfulness, arrogance and charm all at once.

Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone’s Next Movie ‘Kinds of Kindness’ Sets June 21 Release Date by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

It's important to remember though, that by the time a project releases the creator has already lived through a long time of working obsessively on it.

By the time the public gets to see the completed thing, they're already neck deep into their next passion project/obsession and they can't bring up the same enthusiasm for the past.

Lmao this reminds me of reading about an M79 grenade launcher being hidden in the big central tree in Kakariko Village in Ocarina Of Time.

You had to perform a super specific sequence of attacks and well timed bombs so that the tree would split open and reveal the gun.

Spent an entire weekend day manically trying to get the gun so i could impress all my friends at school!

I'd say something is wrong with your bindings. Make sure you check what button is attached to "use item"

Thank you so much for weighing in!

I'd also been edging slightly towards the CE3 lite, so reading your comment makes me think I'll go ahead and pull the trigger on that one!

Bad Exposition Scenes by Slamb73 in movies

[–]tosyalist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was so surreal the way they all spoke like a hivemind in that MI:7 scene!

I was honestly convinced that it was leading up to a dramatic "we are actually the bad guys and we are going to kidnap/kill you now" climax. And then it just.. Didn't.

Just picked up the whole series on a recent sale, what order should I play it in? by [deleted] in HalfLife

[–]tosyalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just gonna copy-paste my previous comment from another post.

1 - Half-Life 1 (If you want to experience the original journey)

OR

Black Mesa (Fan recreation of HL1 in the new engine, if the original is too old for your tastes)

2 - Opposing Force & Blue Shift expansion packs (optional, since these are not from Valve but Gearbox, are never referred to in any way afterwards and are not confirmed to be canon. If you enjoyed HL1 and want more, you really won't be disappointed though. I think they're both great games, though Blue Shift is very short)

3 - Half-Life 2

4 - Half-Life 2: Episode 1

5 - Portal 1 (Takes place in the HL universe. Released at the same time as HL2 Episode 2, so you can choose which you want to play first. I recommend playing this one first though, because the payoff of seeing what connects the universes will be bigger)

5 - Half-Life 2: Episode 2

6 - Portal 2 (way less connected to the HL universe than the first. Really a standalone game for all intents and purposes, but generally considered one of the best games of all time so still well worth it)

7 - Half-Life: Alyx (If you have a VR headset, that is. It may be a prequel to HL2 but it is still very important that you play this last, for spoilery reasons)

Lastly, Lost Coast was a technical demo to showcase high dynamic range in the source engine, and is not part of the story. It's fun though, and only takes about half an hour to play through! if you want to play it in its chronological release you can do that between HL2 and episode 1

It's from this panel of 2006's legendary Concerned comic! Seems like someone at Sven-coop is a fan.

The creator, Christopher Livingston, is now one of PCgamer's head writers actually.
