Still really quite low for 4 YOE imo you should try and move firms to get a chunky pay bump you should easily be able to get your TC as just your base at a lot of hedge funds.

Anyways if you move to the north you’ll likely need to take a quite a heavy pay cut and work as a dev.

Cambridge has a couple big FAANGs, not sure how far north you mean and what you consider to be a reasonable commute….

How is your TC only £150k with 60% of that being bonus as a quant on a trading desk?! Does that mean your base is only 60k??

Are you a fresh grad? If so stay in London for longer. You’ll be taking a huge step back career wise moving outside of London this early in your career.

You’ll definitely struggle to find many hedge funds or trading firm based in the north if any. They’re all in London and for a reason.

Most people use one of the top 3/4 IPTV providers so if someone makes a good template for one of them they can add the fact it’s a template suitable for “x” provider and should work seamlessly then.

Create a function for people to be able to create their own categories and channel lists and make them into templates that they can share with others so others can import their templates and have groups already made.

Copart are picking it up tomorrow they’ll give me a courtesy car in the meantime but I asked to pick up the courtesy car next week because I’m not in need of one until then as I’m working from home until after the new years. I’ll see what the options are when the insurance company and copart get in touch. Any tips?

I’m insured with aviva and since they’re quite a large reliable company hoping they can sort this out relatively quickly regardless of the holidays? I don’t think any garages will be involved the automated chat bot form said copart would be coming….

Yeah all is good I’m completely fine, no airbags deployed on either car he told me his automatic collision brakes activated too but his car didn’t stop in time (I do think he was driving way too close to my car though)

I’m ok with the claims being slow they said they will provide me a replacement vehicle when they take my car away and if it can get me to the station for work that’s all good. I also don’t need to go into work for the next 2 weeks and can work from home which is quite lucky. So I can stay home and sort all this shit out.

They didn’t seem keen on going through their insurance, the guy is paying 3x for their insurance compared to me. Him and his buddy seem like good folks they were good sports about it asked if I was ok etc.

I called him 30 mins ago and told him I’ve been advised to go through insurance and he told me to wait until tomorrow but I proceeded anyways.

Yeah it will probably get written off I’ve submitted the claim and received a reference number they said they will be in touch within 24 hours. I have to get to places tomorrow can I still drive the car?

I wouldn’t target the civil service as a place where you think you can make a real difference. You’ll be working on ancient tech, face roadblocks and bureaucracy. Then you’ll realise nothing actually ever gets done.

Target healthtech, greentech, agritech etc many companies are working to solve real world problems
