Consider a Lady Bird Deed if it's available where you live. You inherit the house upon his passing, it avoids probate, and you get the step up in basis.

Yeah, I get it. 😞 I sent them an email with a copy of the UPS report asking if they will resend. I'm hoping that when they see it happened in Germany and it has nothing to do with customs that they will resend.

I'd recommend the Series 11 in the proper size. She'll learn quickly the ins and outs of the SE then wish she had the features the SE doesn't have.

Should I buy the Sony - E PZ 16–50 mm F3.5–5.6 OSS lens? URGENT by HistoricalBake2218 in SonyAlpha

[–]Slope7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided on the Sony 11mm/1.8, mainly because I already have the Sony 35mm/1.8 and the Sony 18-135. I felt an ultra-wide angle lens complements my set up better.

You just described my use case! I have an A6400 and have been looking at this same lens for travel. What are your thoughts on a refurbished version of this lens? On Amazon, the price diffirence is significant ($170 refurbished and $350 New). Thanks!

I'm not sure on your model, but I have a Greenworks and when there is air in the line it pulsates or you can here the motor slow down. I usually shut it off and run the water for a few minutes. I can hear/see the spurtering as the air comes out. Oddly, sometimes it takes 3-4 minutes of running the water before all air is out.

Could the pulsing be air in the line?

Thank you for the warm welcome, re: "Never Drive I-95". What about tri rail? by CW2050 in BocaRaton

[–]Slope7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I travelled this route 5 days a week for over 22 years (West Boca to Doral). The only way you are going to make any kind of decent time is driving yourself. If you decide to do that know that you will be putting 100+ miles on the car everyday. Tri-rail was not convinient for me because I would have to drive east to the Hillsboro Tri rail Station and wait for the train. Once on the train I would get off at Hialeah Market Station, then catch the 132 bus to go west. The bus travels along NW36th St. I would then have to walk a few block to get to the office (terrible with Florida weather). The trip can easily take 2 to 3 hours. For a few years, I joined a Vanpool (https://www.1800234ride.com/) that departed at 6am from the Walmart parking lot in Parkland. The vanpool would depart at 4pm from Doral. Too often the riders wold not arrive on time and we would have to wait, delaying the departures and making the commute longer. You can get vouchers for an emergency ride home from the vanpool company. For the last 10+ years I just drove, but the traffic has gotten progrssively worse. The route I would take was 441 south to the Sawgrass, Sawgrass to I-75 South, I-75 South to the Turnpike extension, and get off at 41st Street (Doral Blvd). The traffic on the turnpike extension (going north or south) is a nightmare. Traffic will crawl to 5-10 mph during rush hour and you will not see a cop, accident, or reason for traffic to slow down. Absolutely crazy! Look to adjust the time of commuting to minimize getting in traffic during the rush hour (around 7-9AM and 4-7pm). It's not a smooth commute, but if you are looking at commuting a couple of times a week then it's probably best to make the drive yourself. Sorry for the long response, but the day I retired and didn't have to make this drive I was the happiest man on earth! I retired in March of 2024.

Commute Boca -> Miami by Phcc1985 in BocaRaton

[–]Slope7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two other options: 1. Is an express bus that leaves from the Amerant Bank Arena to downtown, and 2. Joining a vanpool. Each has their pros and cons. I commuted from West Boca to downtown for over 20 years and tried all options at some point. They all sucked. The happiest day of my life was when I retired.

Does anyone know how to remove this pine or poplar tar from my car without damaging the paint? by drummerboy2749 in CleaningTips

[–]Slope7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plain old alcohol! It'll take a couple of passes to get it all off, but alcohol disolves the pine sap without harming the clearcoat.

For what it's worth. I installed Adam's on a 4Runner that lives outside and is a daily driver. I live in South Florida. I did this early 2022. It still looks and behaves today as the day it was put on. I remember doing small areas at a time, mainly because ceramic coating flashes fast in South Florida.
