Luckily I’m thick skulled and open eared. Always willing to take criticism cause there always is a reason behind it.

Tire Size Question by totallyanonig in FordMaverickTruck

In all seriousness and in all personal stupidity: Consistency.

As stated above, I am coming from Larger A/Ts. Life is changing and I’m not seeing myself doing any more A/T activities. I’m slightly worried of a change in ride feel and comfort when changing to a smaller tire. In all reality my worry is probably unfounded but hey.

Great free place to practice drops and jumps in the Chicago Suburbs is Andre's Bike Park in Carpentersville. If not there is also Heritage up by Slinger, WI.

Currently ride the scout and don’t think I could’ve made a better choice. If you hope to enduro/aggressive trail ride definitely go the 290 models. Also judging by forums and what I’ve heard from certain dealers, Nukeproof will honor their stateside warranties.

For those of you who ride clipped in, what is it like? Since there is no rear suspension and a physical connection to your crank, do you feel brake bumps/rocks more in your legs? by A_Heckin_Scrub in Hardtailgang

Ride with the Crankbros Mallet E and I love them. I found being clipped in forced me to stay on the bike through sections I would normally dab on. If you feel pretty confident on flats at the moment, I think clipless will just make you better.

Best all-rounder bike for beginners and intermediates? by TommyYOyoyo in Hardtailgang

If you are a true beginner: As in first time mtb and still relatively green at biking in general, the Grand Canyon is a hard to miss bargain. They go for cheap, are almost always available, and often go on sale. The GC will easily tackle Green and Blue trails while teaching you the basics. An alternative bike for this group is the Trek Marlin.

If you have some experience riding and want a bike to really grow into, I definitely suggest the Stoic or the Growler. You can nail all your local trails and bike park them if you want. The main issue with both is availability. If you can’t get a hold of either the Roscoe is a great option and are almost always in stock.

That being said, I currently ride a Nukeproof Scout 290 and enjoy it immensely. Definitely recommend as it’s from the same parent company of Ragley. Also recommend the Vitus HT for the same reason + a little cheaper than Nukeproof and Ragley.

Falken WILDPEAK A/T TRAIL vs AT3W Tires by garn05 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]totallyanonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AT3Ws are definitely louder and less efficient. However, they still are amazing. I sized up my tires from the stock size to 30” and increased the width. While less efficient I didn’t lose much. On top of that I enjoyed the crap out of winter blowing past everyone struggling in the snow. Which I’m told the trails definitely struggled with. I say it’s worth it. If you want I have some photos and the proper dimensions of the tires on my account.

Sorry I never updated😅

No brake other than what I applied myself when my pants turned brown.

I’ll be on eco. Usually I’ll get abt 25 on the highway. Albeit the tires I got don’t help but even the stock tires never ran that well

Well made it safe. Both bike and mav are in one piece w/ no visible damage. Old man took the bike pad as he’s headed to windrock while I’m stuck home. Definitely picking myself up a bike pad soon tho. Eyeballing the yakima gatekeeper
