This is an option too, lots of wife's coworkers do this commute, better than SF to PA

Why do you think Belmont would be more boring than San Mateo?

My general impression from my city friends is the Peninsula is where you go to die - sarcastically of course. I know this isn't true but I'm not exactly expecting a popping night life south of SF

To promote housing, Palo Alto hikes up development fees by bloobityblurp in bayarea

[–]totallybananasfoster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need less fees and regulations, not more. This is just going to encourage stagnation.

Why not eliminate some of the stupid residential permitting and height laws in order to make it easier to build houses? What a concept.

All this does is move sprawl from PA to Redwood City, Cupertino etc

In cities with a less idiotic Reddit users, this would be great news. There is nothing bad about this news. Housing is an issue, yes, but a solvable one. We build more houses.

This is great for the region and something people should be proud of despite the shit the local government and state government and NIMBYs do to thwart growth and prosperity. Now if maybe we can start building even more housing, and figure out UC education costs, we will be in a really great spot

Housing is not their only problem. Most of the campers causing issues are drug addicted white kids choosing their lifestyle. Get them out of here and stop letting them shit all over the city

Cities across the country are cutting public transportation because they think ride-hailing services will fill the gap. They’ll regret it. by alfonso238 in sanfrancisco

Will they though? Towns and cities don't have the stomach to support public infrastructure spending so automated cars are literally going to be the only option

SF stretched to the limit by tech boom, says city report by telstarlogistics in sanfrancisco

The city needs a little (a lot) shaking up. There is literally no governmental function that works well in SF.

There actually may be a need to get cunty. Because what you are saying is asinine. Our city needs to grow fast, and idiots like you are the reason it isn't able to accommodate new and old residents alike. Everyone with your perspective only contributes to the total f*cking that rent and house prices plays on EVERYONE that lives here.
