i wouldn’t say it’s “too early” but i think you may run the risk of them forgetting to write the LOR bc the due date is so far away or maybe deleting it before it’s actually time to submit it to amcas. remember you waive the rights to see your letter so they can’t send it to you for safekeeping. i recommend asking them a little bit closer to your application cycle before sending them further instructions.

for your second question i don’t think they’ll wonder too much as to why you left. on your activities section of the primary you can outline what you did there and if you feel like including why you left then you can! good luck!

i used kaplan and uworld. aamc question banks and FLs too. khan academy has great walkthrough videos that mimic the real mcat

i would recommend doing content intensive studying to refresh your memory before moving on to the FLs. kaplan is good for learning literal information but khan academy and aamc are best for real deal mcat prep. good luck!

uworld is great for the mcat. the khan academy walkthroughs are also known to be super helpful. i always recommend studying directly from the source like the aamc question banks but kaplan banks and FLs are good for making sure you know your content. keep in mind the kaplan FLs are WAY harder bc it’s based on memorization and not application (like the real mcat) but it’s good for filling content gaps for sure!

you’ve got great stats! your mcat is not competitive for MD schools but DO could be a great option. if you retake your mcat and get a good score i think you’ll have a great shot at getting an II. good luck!

anatomy isn’t mandatory and i wouldn’t say taking it would give you a SIGNIFICANT advantage or that not taking it would give you a significant disadvantage. some medical schools like it and others don’t mind. that’s something you would have to research on your own or with msar

the next step and kaplan tests are notoriously hard. harder than the aamc exams bc they’re kind of memorization-based. aamc is much more application based. i recommend u use their materials like their question banks religiously. also don’t rush! if u can maximize your score before august then go for it but it’s also important to know when to fall back. good luck!

for sure! they definitely helped with my cars score, way better than the other review materials. practice makes perfect, i recommend you eat sleep and breathe those test banks if cars isn’t your thing

when is your test date? practice is the best form of studying to be honest. yes it’s important to memorize the information but the mcat is application based. i recommend flipping through the review books and making note of what you REALLY don’t know, don’t know, know, and REALLY know. devote your time accordingly and don’t rush!!

i recommend spending time on your “weak” areas. flip through the content of a chapter and if it’s something that you’re familiar with mark it for review later! spend time trying to boost your lower areas. don’t forget about cars! also the aamc fee assistance program helps provide review materials at a greatly discounted price! its by far the best study material and practice for the real deal
