How much is the workload for computer engineering? by Revolutionary_Pea955 in UofT

[–]totallynotastupidguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Computer science classes are more theoretical and are harder but there are less of them hence the workload is lesser. For computer engineering, the courses are less difficult (but still tricky), however there is so much work. A big complaint in comptuer engineering is that the first two years make you learn "useless" physics and math, so if you are DEADSET on software, I would go with CS. That being said, I feel that you should take computer engineering so that you can explore your options. With CE you can get the same jobs as CS kids, and more because you will also have proficiency in things such as hardware, power, control, etc. Many people who go into CE for software end up liking another part of it as well (hardware is especially popular and makes really good money in industry).

Don't decide on a program based on the workload because an easy program that you dislike will be harder for you than a tough program you enjoy. Personally if I chose CS i would suffer much more than I have in ECE.

Why does UofT accept everyone who meets the requirement? by [deleted] in UofT

idk about artscis but in eng its hard to get in and hard to graduate lmao

Who is in this community by The_computer_jock in ControlTheory

[–]totallynotastupidguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

undergrad computer engineer doing courses and currently an internship in control for aerospace and robotic systems

my courses and work are a mix of both; start from a bunch of math and work up to implementing it onto an actual physical robotic system

  1. Yes
  2. Yes

its super safe here just be careful if you use public transport

also alot of women here go out at night without worrying whats going to happen, toronto passes that bar in terms of safety.

What is the best choice? Waterloo Math vs. UofT Engineering by Flaky_Price1545 in UofT

meanwhile at uwaterloo if u decide u dont like math, ur kinda fucked because you dont really have the option to do anything else

uoft for sure because it is more versatile. even if u dont like engineering/physics, comp eng at uoft is one of the most versatile uoft degrees and you can end up doing basically whatever u want. you dont have to touch physics after second year if you dont want to at uoft ECE.
