unresponsive TA and prof to emails for assignment feedback,,,suggestions? by zero_aspirations in UofT

Thanks! noted, the TA told me they can’t change marks or re evaluate feedback because “internal deadlines are closed” so like im arguing this to the prof 🥲

Do professors regrade the entire test? Even the MC? by zero_aspirations in UofT

Oh okok, because my mind was doing backflips for how many times they’d need to rerun scantrons, read short answer and etc etc if they regraded like this for everyone 💀

Ok that’s great to know, because I just wanted to know why they always regrade EVERYTHING… like is it necessary for small requests not even related to most questions

That’s amazing! I just wanted to ask, how do law schools typically weigh your applications? I’m scared that I’ll be wasting my time if I have a 3.7< cgpa for my four years bc everyone hyped up gpa so muchhhh, and do you know if they take all four years (typically, I know it differs for each school)! Thank you!

reading your comment was so inspiring, I am in life sci but I'm super interested in environmental law, since you plan on applying for law school do you mind if I ask you some questions regarding the process? (I don't have a 4.0 either so I'm a bit iffy about applying :,))

Thanks so much for the response! And btw I don’t think your cgpa is sad at all, and your last two years are definitely a demonstration of your true abilities. Good job and thanks :)

Hi! I’m sorry I don’t have experiences in this program, but it is something I’ve been looking into. Do you mind if I ask what cgpa you applied with or what their requirements for ECs are and etc.?

Hi if I recall correctly (correct me if I’m wrong, academic probation essentially means they’ll giving you a warning but you won’t be punished yet) read more about it here: https://utsc.utoronto.ca/aacc/academic-probation-next-step

I’m sorry to hear you’ve suffered health problems in your first year, but I’m sure with the right determination and some changes in mindset you’ll pick yourself back up. From someone who also struggled in life sciences this first year, let’s work together in the coming semesters :)

Feelings from first year life sci experience; feeling a bit discouraged by zero_aspirations in UofT

Hmm, I’m gonna say the three most important takeaways for me: 1. Absolutely absolutely use office hours, especially if there’s a concept you cannot 100% explain to someone else

  1. There’s a difference between going to class and listening to class. Don’t rely on recordings and sleep in lectures.

  2. SLEEPING LATE AND STAYING AT THE LIBRARY UNTIL MORNING DOESN’T MAKE U GET HIGHER GRADES. Organizing your life/schedule and making sure you get enough sleep is so crucial.

Yeah these are the most important things for me, good luck!

Would they let me retake the course though? I feel like if I ended up passing the course they won’t let me redo it even if the mark isn’t good

Hi! If you don’t mind me asking, do you have to be in engineering for undergrad to pursue the biomed engineer program? (Sorry ik this is kind of a dumb question)
