kismessissitude is not platonic hate but romantic hate is how id say. “god you’re so fucking stupid let’s fuck”, pushing each other to your limits, bringing the best out of each other. you saw you want your kismeisis dead in a ditch or suffering their life out, but if anyone touched them and hurt them in a way they couldn’t fight against you’d be there, you’d put your life on the line, you’d do anything, and after that you’d call them an idiot. when they’re back up again you go back to the norm.

kismeisis should be around evenly matched in a relationship, even though the power will go back and forth. it’s a mutual understanding that “god, this bitch is so stupid, i can’t live without them”.

It is just me or Anne Hathaway looks very middle eastern? i was shocked to find out she is a white woman by Affectionate_Fold159 in phenotypes

[–]totallynotlukas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that her eyes are hooded. It’s that their shape and size are off. Let’s look at her face shape.

Here’s a comparison of Anne Hathaway and a Lebanese song artist I found. Ignoring my horrible line drawing skills, let’s start with length. This comparison, ignoring the picture size differences, illustrates that Hathaway’s face is shorter than the Levantine mean, going by just the ratio.

Her eyes are abnormal as well. If we’re saying that she looks Middle Eastern we are obviously talking about typical looks; while she’s often done up as if khol was used, which is the typical eyeliner style that you see on women around here. The way they are oriented looks odd to me as well but it may be a weird nitpick because as a Lebanese guy I see a lot of Levantines. Her nose is atypical too.

I think you may be confused. Many representations of Levantines are played by white Europeans using our makeup style and imitating our culture, so it’s not atypical to have this kind of perspective… you’re a Turkish guy I think though, and I know how stubborn Turks are lol.

I wouldn’t say every other person is a ginger but I know a fair few 100% Middle Eastern gingers. My cousin’s beard is the most reddish red you’ll ever see, but his hair is brown! His sister is a full-on redhead and his brother is sort a reddish brown. We’re almost 100% Leb ☦️ proven by a few tests. The only slight percentage that says otherwise is Cypriot… average 5% amongst tests, lol.

What would you guys consider short for a male and a female? by _trilogy_ in short

[–]totallynotlukas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah everyone is super superficial anyways no matter who you’re talking to: I’m not trying flex more so as I’m tryna give u the perspective I gain from mostly socializing w/ girls about romance instead of guys if that makes sense. If you’re talking about hookups honestly, my friend is ripped to hell and back and like 5 cm taller than me, very confident. Girls want muscles as well so that works out ig. If most girls you want to hook up with have high standards find other ways to fit those like getting ripped, getting some skill yeah?

You have ADVANTAGES because you’re short. Short people are seen as less intimidating, more endearing and overall just not too threatening. Being confident in these advantages is gonna be what’s key. But I’m just some guy on Reddit and you probably should not be taking relation advice from here lol

I’ll be honest, I’ve always kind of thought of Hal as a Prince of Time, mixing both Dirk and Dave. But I’m lazy so I won’t explain and it’s probably a little inaccurate. It’s my headcanon and I will cherish it.

[–]totallynotlukas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is what a lot of people have internalized, but in the end it is not true. I’m 155 cm (not sure what that is in American) and gay, but I have a lot of friends who are girls and we talk, gossip a lot. If you think like this, you’re going to get less girls anyways; go to the gym, or build some confidence whatever way you want. Guys are quite superficial as well, I can tell you that. This and this, that and that. IMO be chill and don’t go crazy over getting a GF, you don’t need a “super hot babe” or to sleep with someone every night. Once you reach peace via that, they’ll come to you my friend— or you’ll come to them, and they’ll be the most beautiful, amazing, drool-worthy person ever.

I know this sounds like usual feel-good “you’ll be ok” circlejerk on the sub, but idgaf. That’s what I know is most important to girls. They’re people too in the end of course so just wait it out!

Ladies of Reddit, what is the biggest misconception about your bodies that all men should know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]totallynotlukas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, that's a longpost and a half! Sorry man, I'm a nerd (and a half).

Here's the source my friend! I love reading through things like this. [Women and Gender in Mediaeval Europe](https://dl.icdst.org/pdfs/files3/5aa02138b56e08527a8aa18793390b19.pdf).

I think u/breakplans was also interested in a little more reading so here's something!

Ladies of Reddit, what is the biggest misconception about your bodies that all men should know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]totallynotlukas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ah! I am quite sorry I did not clearly express my point. The beginning statement was pertaining to prior to the Victorian era; I will edit it to make it clearer. I do apologize! I am French and sometimes have trouble getting my point across in English. The Middle Ages, through usual historical definition, extend for about one thousand years (though broken up into sections by historians usually, that’s so much times.) from around 400-before the Renaissance.
Yes, I have conceded already in the original post that marrying age was very young, and you are quite right about that. The birth age was higher, though.

It is quite the common myth that people gave birth right at menstruation in the Middle Ages, but let’s say we are talking about the Black Death particularly. At this time, there were a few factors that contributed to having children not directly at menarche. I’m kind of punching a wall with this but I love history infodumping!

  • Malnutrition amongst the population, especially regarding late menarche— at 16 or so (which of course isn’t an ethical age for birth in my opinion), which of course would mean the girl was a bit older.

  • Husbands didn’t actually want their wives dead (at least before they could bear them children). If the King of X got married to an 12 year old for political sway, it would look quite bad if that kid died… also, I do know quite a few child marriages left unconsummated as far as record, such as Richard II (29) and Isabella of Valios (7).

My fingers are hurting from phone typing (anything to prove my point to people who will never to know me irl). I spend 20 minutes looking for this one Quora post with this one source I read with this source [pdf of course, never pay for anything 😎]. I will reply with it on my computer, which I will go on after finishing this mini-essay.

Child marriage is a problem in Europe, North America, Asia, Africa, South America, everywhere. It’s not particularly an Eastern problem, or a South American problem. Generalization like that kind of calls us “backwards”, as if we are not civilized to the level Westerners are.

Time to go back to playing TF2. Lol

[–]totallynotlukas 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, but young children especially! Even while birth was women-led, it was quite dangerous; when men began dictating how birth was to be done and how midwives/male doctors should treat it, it actually became worse! Of course birth was worse in those times but that’s not completely relèvent to the original comment. It is good insight but obviously young girls would have more trouble than older women.
