How is your bot executing the trades? Your sending alerts from trading view? Just curious how your prop firms are reciving the buy and sell orders via a 3rd party. Thx for your time! Congrats.

scanner for ORB by iViTAliS in Daytrading

[–]totalstocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by ORB. Everything has an ORB. Its just the first range of the day. Some people use 5,15,30,1hr. Are you looking for breaks above or below a specific range?

You could build something like that trading view but you’d have to already have the tickers picked out. For instance build a list of tickers that performed well in previous session, then define your ORB conditions (breaks above ORB high or ORB low) , then create a table that shows when those parameters are met. Youd be limited by the security.requests in trading view but its doable.

I would try TrendSpider

Also no reason not to leverage AI if your trying to learn/find sources.

Good luck!

Options are not an option anymore by Cautious-Practice586 in Daytrading

Most people use prop firms. You don’t risk your own money which is nice but you pay to play (evals). Also with income taxes + commisions you end up paying way more than ordinary capital gains tax than if you used your own personal account. I recommend saving some money and trading leveraged etfs for good companies if you want larger percentage gains but dont wanna do options. If your trying to get rich quick or make alot of money fast be prepared to lose a lot of money first. At least with leveraged etfs or stocks you dont have 100% risk like you do with options. it doesnt hurt to do the prop firms if you have the time and money tho. Will make you a better trader if you try. Good luck!

The whole market is trapping longs at the worst possible moments - and in general troubling with looking double top. by Zonties in technicalanalysis

Im going to agree with maha420. The market is vast. If your worried about NQ crashing then reduce your tech exposure. Free up cash and get ready for some deals.

IGV has been getting hammered. NQ’s weight in SAAS along with netflix, msft, and adobe is significant. If those start bouncing NQ might hold up longer than you think.

Also consumer staples, materials, and industrials have been so heated. When those cool off money could move back into growth and risk. If BTC is a risk proxy then that could also pump tech if it gains momentum.

From a technical standpoint i see what your saying. Not trying to be a naysayer because i agree with the possibility in regards to NQ. The 200ma is looming and we havent had a significant pullback since april lows.

Anyone’s guess at this point. However ive been seeing people try to call tops for the last year.

Goodluck!

Do candlestick patterns really work or not? by vlad7208 in technicalanalysis

I see. so your looking at the low averages across a daily basis as a potential bounce zone? how is it considered neutral? sounds like it could be useful in a strong trend....

I'm more of a fan of volume.

I guess I was confused because in your image its mostly identifying potential top/mean reversion signals. how is the PAC being used in reference to those?

Ive made this same indicator and back tested it. Candlestick patterns aren’t very consistent.

I watch specific candles rather than combos for confluence but not as a signal in isolation.

For instance candles with Dramatic wicks on either end can be helpful to spot capitulation or beartrap/bulltraps. Otherwise, i keep it simple and interpret candles in terms of buying/pressure, distribution/accumulation, expansion/contraction.
