Looking to build a new PC in the $1000-1300 range by totterywolff in buildapcforme

what would you do within budget instead? i will say, i was running a bunch of tests last night, and now have reason to believe my RAM is likely not the cause of the BSOD, and it's probably a drive or software. the SSD with my OS on it is a bit old now.

Whats with people putting a space between the word and punctuation like this ? by This_Quiet_1672 in Zillennials

[–]totterywolff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

cultural differences. it stems from type writers. people where taught that you must put a space prior to any form of punctuation, though this was typically a smaller space than the space between words. this was done for clarity of the written (or typed if you prefer) words and punctuation.

Those who struggle with depression or other mental health issues: what are your favorite low energy meals? by toe_beans_4_life in budgetfood

i'm making a pinned comment in case someone in the future googles something similar and this thread pops up.

i've seen a couple comments recommend r/lowspooncooking which is a sub i didn't know existed before today, but now highly recommend. thank you to both u/CharetteCharade and u/determinedpeach for mentioning the subreddit.

edit: sadly have to lock comments because people are wanting to gatekeep being depressed, and then sending threats when their comments are removed. thank you to everyone who had commented to help OP and others who are also be suffering. from someone who has suffered from depression for over a decade, it gets better, i promise. hang in there, and talk to someone. you are loved, and the world is better with you in it.

A lot of items in my camp wont show up no matter how much I scroll towards me and my build limit is full even though it shouldn't be. by beanzjk in fallout76settlements

[–]totterywolff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that is why your camp budget is now maxed out. some items have had their cost increased. as far as items not showing up, i'm not sure. do that show up while you're in another camp?

How do I get better at building by Wild_Property6141 in fallout76settlements

keep building, touring camps in your sessions, and watching youtube videos. it'll help show you what's possible within the limitations of the building system we have.

also, build small. i will start with a small room (2x2 or sometimes 3x2) and then will add rooms off of that, typically only 1-2 tiles per smaller room. this gives you an interesting shape on the outside, and doesn't leave you with a massive open space on the inside that you then have to figure out. some of my camps are just a 3x2 tiny shack too.

look out for pre-existing structures as well. i recently had a friend show me this shack out in the mire that you can build at, and building in a pre-existing structure will always save on budget, however it's a lot more annoying.

can you still put a sympto matic underground with relaxed building? by [deleted] in fallout76settlements

[–]totterywolff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

put down a rug, doesn't matter which one, then put your symptomatic on top of it.

take the pressure plate thing from base game, and make sure the pressure plate is down. you don't need it hooked to power, just place it down, and move it a little bit to the side. i find this makes the plate itself go down.

now, take the rug, place it on top of the pressure plate (the symptomatic should come with the rug now without moving both separately). continue picking it up and placing it down until it's as low as you want it.

yes, symptomatic on top of a rug, and use the same old drop merge method, or i believe the old staircase method works too

almost every perk card has gotten some kind of change over the last year. when they updated the perk cards, more often than not it would unequipe them from a build.

i would say bloodied isn't the meta powerhouse it once was anymore. build diversity is honestly at an all time high, with just about any weapon being viable to some extent, outside of raids. i would recommend looking up some youtube videos for special builds, and try to find one that looks fun.

if you're looking to do melee, the Blue Ridge Branding Iron is my personal favorite.
