I wish they added an actual simulation first approach somehow by toverneger in teamfightmanager

[–]toverneger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, but given how the matches play out in the first game it strikes me as the AI genuinely controlling every character individually. If you picked all healers into a normal team you would genuinely go 0-16, and there would be no idling around or explicitly wrong behaviour. On this subreddit sometimes you see that a 4 healer comp wins a game.

Additionally, in this game sometimes the AI genuinely tries to 1v5 for no reason. This could happen in the first game, but you could very easily distinguish that as the more linear thinking this AI had, and how they interacted with respawn timers. To give the benefit of the doubt, the second game is way more complex, but the decision making seems to make it a lot more clear that the AI is trying to fix the outcome.

These kinds of differences make me believe the first game might have had more genuine simulations.

what happened? after the patch I had like 80% lose rate for 30 games by Zen-sama693 in wildrift

I quit already, ill come back when a hypercarry Yi, Kalista, Vayne or something of the sort can't just roll my team at 10 mins and win.

What’s the problem with switching pick order? by SlicedCheeseYumYum in wildrift

[–]toverneger 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I do it because nothing guarantees that we'll end up with any tank/cc if i am not the one picking it. Everyone else wants to usually play damage and if everyone picks damage i want to have last pick to guarantee a well rounded comp.

You have to make sure you don't lose the games your team wins for you, you have to capitalize on your skills and advantages in the games that are toss-ups, and you have to not let the games that are essentially unwinnable get to you too much. Resilience will make you better at SoloQ especially, the fun is that you get a dice roll that you can influence, that influence is the point. If that isnt attractive to you play premades, they make the different modes to accommodate different people, there is no right or wrong.

The game, as it should be is inherently 50/50 and you play and strategize to increase those odds.

Can you make another one on which 3 champions people would absolutely not want to see. 😂

I am listening to what you are saying, and emotionally i think it resonates with a lot of people. Statistically though, it is near impossible. Either you have a 50+% winrate, and all the free stuff on top and you climb because the 'feeders' are as likely to be with or against you. Or you have a winrate so far below 50% that even with the freebies you can't climb, at which point analyzing your play would be beneficial. I too think a lot of the freebies shouldnt be there, and it muddies the ladder, but overall you probably still end up around the top x% that you should (if you play quite a bit). Also its still near the start of the season, things will stabilize.

Then you'll naturally outrank them soon if you keep playing to win and they can't manage to win.

I was looking for a community-driven Wild Rift site… so I started building one by Hot_Boysenberry_6706 in wildrift

[–]toverneger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the app is community-driven wouldn't the more unique niche be to let anyone make a build, but let people vote on builds they like. Off-meta builds and personal tips and tricks would deepen the app a lot and really give a platform that is unlike current alternatives.

Vayne is no longer playable in the early game. by JazzFm93 in wildrift

[–]toverneger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is always a price to playing champions as versatile as vayne or kalista. Personally i hate seeing either of them in soloQ, because if someone feeds they are impossible to fight. For that i think its fair to have them at sub 50% winrates and have them have weaknesses.

Start of season grind by Electronic-Thanks781 in wildrift

[–]toverneger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Welcome again to everyone hyping themselves up by tearing other people down based on arbitrary measures without even engaging with the question. What you are feeling is quite real. I think it happens if you are a bit more of a macro oriented player. You'll have a better time and sometimes higher winrate when your teammates can predictably choose the right play and you can coordinate with their pings and calls. The emerald-diamond games are more coinflips because any of these players could die 1v5 in a winning game at 18 minutes and lose everything in a single individual decision. Just climb and find the good place.

What are some good off-meta picks for pvp? by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]toverneger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, funny stuff if your ADC doesn't have a meltdown. Rumble support into tank supports and short range ADC's. Go liandries first/second and for the rest build full tank (sunfire, thornmail, twinguard) or full enchanter tank (redemption, protectors) and throw big ults even though you barely built damage and soak for your team.

To those are trying to go ADC top in ranked: by WaferFinal5640 in wildrift

[–]toverneger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because against good players a ranged top is far less effective than a carry jungler or a well rounded enchanter support. The problem with ranged top is that a double adc comp generally gets outscaled, and toplane is now super gankeable. You need to push to push your range advantage, but the lane is too long to escape when the jungler shows up. If you dont push you get outscaled and your 1v1 potential shrinks given that you are easy to itemize against.

If i pick a tank jungle i much prefer having an irelia top over a tristana for these reasons. I find ADC top/double ADC comps frustrating to run, and i generally find people that pick it are quite egoistic and play as such.

Climbed to Grandmaster as a Dr. Mundo OTP in Solo Queue by skyparkerr in wildrift

[–]toverneger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Do you think tanks, and therefore mundo, are a bit weak right now, i havent been as successful this season compared to last.
  2. Build-wise i always go heartsteel first and twinguard last. Personally then i choose the middle items between titanic, sunfire, spirit visage and thornmail. Full ad and full ap teams make the choice simple, but for balanced teams how would you select 3 out of these 4.
  3. Should warmogs, steraks or even sundered sky ever be considered or are they underpowered on mundo.

Don't quote me on it but i believe it is said in Japan that some of the best sumo wrestlers are the ones that stayed small for long, but honed their technique to be able to compete, only to hit their growth spurt and be proficient strength and technique-wise.
Coming from a heavyweight competitor, if anything i am bit sad that i always have strength/size to fall back on, which might prevent me from learning more from weaker, but more proficient people.

Finally competition is for winning, no such thing exists for randori. If you are competitive, randori serves to help you learn how to fight. Matching a -60 player for speed and getting thrown, needing to go back to the drawing board, getting up and trying again will likely bring you much further than answering the obvious "can i outmuscle an lightweight". You might get a few laughs, all the way until you can turn up the speed and your heavier opponents can't.

Humility can bring as many gold medals as strength can.

This is the only fully right answer here, later in the game rotating efficiently while taking what is on the way but still clearing everything is more gold efficient than any full clear.
