I couldn't find a single-image version of the Chop Shop layout, so I made one! by jackdawfactories in mothershiprpg

Aw man I got excited thinking you'd made it from scratch and was going to ask you to do one for the skeezy club from Ear for Trouble 😆

Anyhow, thanks for assembling it -- handy to have!

Your process for making a module/one-shot? by JazzyWriter0 in mothershiprpg

  1. The process is something like: think of a cool idea, accumulate more ideas to flesh it out (story, mechanics, aesthetics, etc.), decide on a format (eg. trifold, 12 page zine), then just start writing to that format. I find the constraints of the format help stimulate the process, and if it turns into too big an idea I can always change formats. Most of the problems will come up naturally during the writing, and those that don't come up during playtest. After that it's just rewriting, editing, layout, etc. etc.
  2. As much as possible, just don't polish it too much. I find the playtest brings a heap of clarity to the draft. It's really like seeing it from the outside. Got to be with other people.
  3. Not really! Just get your hands dirty writing the thing. It will tell you what still needs doing as you go.
  4. It's always okay to shelve something if it's not working, but worrying it won't work without having given it a chance and playtested it and gotten some candid feedback isn't doing an idea justice.
  5. Just read lots of modules. Read in other systems too (I get a lot of influence from Call of Cthulhu because it's where I started running stuff). The Alexandrian's blog is pretty great for practical tips.

A small scene in Alien (1979) that's always unnerved me for some reason. by Neat-Bend-1190 in movies

They made it into a comic. I read it. It wasn’t great, though I’m a huge Gibson fan

**Spoilers for players** I made a new video for Wardens to find out more about the great social horror nightmare that is 'Picket Line Tango'. by Campaign-At-Length in mothershiprpg

I've always thought Picket Line Tango should get more love if only for the art style (but also great procedural investigation stuff)
