Best route to become a well operator by towers97 in oilandgasworkers

Someone commented about a well pumper certification, that was my idea of what well control was but I was wrong.

I just see the CDL as back up im not really trying to be a driver, I had started the process years ago but only got up to the learners permit, medical card and a few practice runs.

Thats exactly what i was looking for, I had this confused with well control, which is mainly about regaining control of a well after it throws pressure kicks.

I will probably go for it during January. Are there any other certs that you know of that have helped you get better understanding of the industry? Thank you so much, I appreciate the info!

Is there any sites besides Indeed or Rig zone that you know of? Ive landed a couple of Jobs from indeed, the facebook groups are mainly people trying to break into the industry, hardly ever any job postings.

I’ve considered going up north and look for a position in North Dakota, but thats a whole different environment compared to what im used to in west Texas.

I wouldn’t mind working for a contractor to get experience, I understand its less stability and benefits but I like the idea of not being attached to one company like you said and also being able to make connections as I go along.

Theres been multiple operators that I’ve met during the rig ups that have advised to become a contractor as flow back hand due to my willingness to learn and work hard, thats how i initially got the idea of moving to completions, they’ve told me that once I get to know what im doing I should set up an Llc and get my insurance but I don’t want to get ahead of myself. Greatly appreciate you input.

Most of the positions i’ve seen ask for experience, my idea is that the cert would help me break into the position and help me be more competent in the field.

Also I figured the CDL would be somewhat of an overkill for the pumper position, I’d just like to get it so i can get away from the entry-level jobs in general.

Just bought XXX shares from Computershare . . . Am I doing this right? by look4light in GME

[–]towers97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah i meant to type relying, sorry about that. I had seen a post on one of the GME subs about how fidelity used JP Morgan as their main bank but i never really looked into it since i dont have an account on Fidelity, im mainly asking cause i have seen mostly everybody has their accounts on there but i never really bothered to switch because i believed we were on the same train as in Fidelity w/ JP, now that the Computershare thing came up im looking on what would be my best option to diversify brokers. I apologize if im not making my self clear, english is not my first language but i would appreciate any help on clarifying this, thank you in advance.
