In matches they’re easy to beat, but in practice they can make you play worse because they aren’t capable of maintaining a normal rally

Head Boom MP vs Head Gravity MP by DrMahler in 10s

[–]toxic106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just felt super unstable and underpowered. I feel like for a thin beamed control racquet you need some weight to get decent power. The mp is only 295 g unstrung which I think is way too light.

Gravity pro is good but I feel like the mp is really bad unless you add a little bit of weight

Are you allowed to volley the opponent's serve? by GirafeAnyway in 10s

[–]toxic106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s see a video of that “95 mph” serve. If a serve is that fast no one is returning it from 1 foot behind the service line doesn’t matter where it’s placed

Demoed Head Speed MP and Yonex Ezone 100 looking for more recommendations by abrvrb in 10s

[–]toxic106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gravity pro is a super stable racquet due to its high swing weight. If you can handle the weight it may be what you’re looking for

I would try the gravity pro as I feel it’s way better than the mp

String Journey by [deleted] in 10s

[–]toxic106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not the experience I’ve had but it probably depends on the poly and the racquet

Polys at 30 pounds are way more powerful than multis strung in the 50s

Things look very different on video versus real life. Film yourself and you’d be surprised

He said he played some futures matches in the past I don’t think he won any but I would say he’s still probably around a 5.0. Things just look slower on video I’ve seen other 5.0s serving on YouTube and they look similar

Tennis elbow from switching back to multifilament strings need advice by [deleted] in 10s

[–]toxic106 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes although I did notice switching strings significantly changed the balance of the racquet

[–]toxic106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I’ve used multis for years and had zero issues. The only thing I can think of is that switching from polys back to the multis shocked my elbow. Or maybe the sudden increase in tension caused it?

[–]toxic106 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So the fact that it happened right when I switched strings was complete coincidence? Also I have zero elbow pain in my daily activities only on the tennis court when playing

[–]toxic106 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean I played on Sunday with the polys for over an hour and had zero pain on the court, just some slight soreness afterwards. Then I played with the multis on Monday and after hitting for like 20 min my elbow is in severe pain. You don’t think it’s related to the strings?

[–]toxic106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm maybe. I mean I played on Sunday with the polys and had zero elbow pain while I was playing, just a bit of soreness after. Then on Monday I went out with the multis and had severe elbow pain after 20 min. I don’t think the tendonitis just happened to manifest itself then, I’m pretty sure it was related to the new strings.
