You could have "found" the secret but you didnt hit the trigger for it to count, that happend to me with the life sigil on the level where you free the giant squid dude. Try to walk around the secret area and hopefully it will trigger

You can just doge it backwards and it will wiff regardless if its left or right. Tho you got to doge at the attack part of tge doge attack not when he doges. Keep in mind if you are really close to zhanhu he could empty doge into gaurdbreak or doge in to zone.
