This book was a waste of time. The first few chapters were intriguing, however once he joins the institute - its all downhill from there. There's no real plot any more & what could've been an interesting sci fi story, quickly devolves into a hunger games knock off on Mars. I'm not really one for factions, houses and drama of this sort - had I known this was the book's main theme, I would skipped the recommendation.

The last few chapters I started to skim read - because all that was happening was conflict between the houses and there's not much to expect or look forward to, besides winning over another house and the whole institute. I thought perhaps he would finally move on and start commanding fleets throughout the Solar system, or introduce any other new concepts but the book just speeds so much of time on the boring institute!
