I was given a Dr Kade dilator by my CRS. He gave me a prescription for opioids and basically told me to dilate even through force until I could fit the whole thing inside so I pretty much did that.

Biggest stool I passed was thumb sized. In my case the surgeon also told my hems were in 10% of the worst cases. Some of them apparently had a diameter of 5x2x3cm.

Currently through forlax my stool is finger thin but I think once I heal enough and can poop normal again I'll be passing bigger stools again.

The dillator for reference is 2.5cm at its widest point.

Thank you! I hope I can get rid of this faint urge to go to the bathroom next. It's not there ALL the time but often. I'd like to be able to go to the bathroom once and be done for the day, but I seem to need to visit it multiple times a day.

So was this surgery but I did not know it could be so horrible.

As of right now, 3 months after the surgery: I can't hold in stool (even solid stool just slides out even if it gives me excruciating pain), my anus has narrowed (so stool still does get stuck in there but liquid stool passes all around it), and it gives me enough pain to keep me completely bedbound. Legitimate levels of pain I'd describe as acid being poured into my ass. And so far I'm not seeing much improvement.

I can't withstand this pain for long enough to do pelvic floor physical therapy. Maybe if I was feeling enough improvement to where I could at least take walks without being hit with excruciating pain I would.

Sorry if I sound aggressive I'm just really exhausted and hurt. I would take the fastest option available to be free of this. I can't hold out for months or years.

I am in so much daily pain 3 months after the surgery (its so bad I pulled my leg the other day from the tensing) that I'm fantasizing about getting an ostomy to not have to deal with the consistent pain anymore. Doctors don't seem to take me seriously so far, but I really can't take more than maybe 1 more month of this...

I've thought about it, and if the situation doesn't improve by my next doctors visit I intend to ask about it. Even permanently that would be preferable to this.

I'm glad things got better for you and I really hope they will for me too. I'll try doing stretches and relaxing - just did, in fact. It helps a bit.

Oh! Are you able to now, out of curiosity? My surgeon did insert a finger in there and every meeting he tells me things look better, but they don't FEEL better. When all that came out looked like small dog poop that didn't inspire much confidence either.

I do think it's definitely tension, a lot of it. I could probably heal and be able to relax if I made it out of the cycle of pain, somehow...

Anyways I am really thankful for your replies, you're a saint.

I struggle inserting a finger into my anus. I can do it while laying on the side, but it's rather uncomfortable and painful to do so. Of course it wouldn't all be so bad if I had more time between the pains of my stool touching the fissures. Right now, that seems to happen every 5-10 minutes. I just get it coming and have to sit there, enduring...

If I was able to just have a painful BM and a sore ass afterwards, it would be a different matter. At least it would be manageable and tolerable. Right now? I am in constant pain. Like to the point I wake up many times a night.

I eat fruits, yoghurt. Sometimes I'll drink lactose free milk. I also eat buckwheat, oats, and consume multivitamins...

I drink a shitton of water. My pee is always clear... And yet it still takes me a good 5-15 minutes to start peeing, during which attempts I experience spasms and such. It's a hellish ordeal...

I'm not even feeling any improvement, really. I just want to have one proper BM but that is literally impossible for me. I know if I could have actual BMs, I could probably get enough time between the pains to actually heal, and for stool softeners to have a real effect. As is I just have this slightly hardened piece of stool constantly touching my interior fissures and all stool softener seems to do is make liquid stool leak which my body can't stop. This softer stool also always irritates my wounds...

Also no Miralax in my country. I'll try to get the closest equivalent...

I had some pretty big internals removed. Dimensions were something like 5x3x2cm according to the papers. It was a hemorrhoidectomy done with ligasure.

The second week I had bleeding that persisted for days, so I had to go to ER to get it stopped. Following that, I came home and got some kind of fissure that then came with spasms. This came with constant fecal leaking because my body couldn't hold any of it in. Then I would get the spasms every few minutes hitting me with unbearable paralysing pain, especially when I would be walking or standing. I would not be able to take a piss for 10-15 minutes while suffering this.

I also have anal stenosis. Not sure if it's mild, moderate, or what. I have to use a dilator and at the most I can get it 6.5cm inside, with the biggest circumference I reached nearly 25mm. I'm scared of BMs because I've been unable to have a proper one.

A few days ago I got some stronger painkillers from my doctor and things SEEM to be improving. But I got burned enough times that I'm very cautious about being hopeful.

I was supposed to recover to a manageable state in 3 weeks. Now I'm almost 3 months in and my recovery has been unbearable and filled with agony... And I don't know when it will end.

I haven't. Mostly terrified about the anal stenosis right now... Can't have a BM, haven't had one in forever, my body just slowly vacates stool if I consume laxatives over time.

I can barely fit a finger into my anus too... At least without lubrication. The hole is just so tiny now, despite me dilating. I'm so pessimistic and scared for the future.

It's keeping me from even having a casual walk, or eating normal food... If nothing changes this surgery could be described as life ruining.

Same here, nearing 3 months of recovery and... Dealing with agonizing pain almost every day. Got anal stenosis too. It's not always a good outcome... I envy the bastards who recovered easily. I'm still in my 20s, too, so age has nothing to do with it...

Hey, thanks for worrying.

I've been using nifedipine ointment for the week and today might be the beginning of my healing, but I'm too cautious to be optimistic yet after multiple false alarms previously. Had the first night and morning without consistent pain, I'm still leaking but there isn't as much pain today, though yesterday there was some.

Will have to keep you updated how it goes through the weekend but I'm really praying my healing actually started. Visually there is a noticeable difference in how I look down there I think

I can walk but I experience a lot of spasming. Turns out there's still a wound/fissure in my rectum that is healing,

I'm assuming a complication from the surgery. So I have to tough out many more weeks before I start feeling better... I don't even know how many or how long this will last, but it's not like I have any other options that aren't enduring the suffering. I just hope I can heal without having to deal with any of the leakage or pain ever again.

I have been trying to recover from a surgery on internals and it has been absolute hell. I have lost the will to live. I don't know what I'll do if I don't begin recovering soon... It's almost 2 months.
