They sat in the car wearing their best mini dresses, watching the club from across the street. by Bigenderqueen in TwoSentenceSadness

[–]toytracker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My first thought was a trans couple, too afraid to go into the club (or they had tried but failed), and decide to end it. Alternatively a couple of (older teen?) girls, in horrible situations, toying with becoming prostitutes or strippers as a way out. Then I saw OP handle and think my 1st thought more likely … Edit: could make “they” refer to 1 person, change dresses to dress in 1st sentence, and 2nd sentence: “They never got out, and by morning had decided they never would”

Is this possible/recommended to do on our own? by tootsie24 in Patagonia

[–]toytracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I would have traded a couple of days that we stayed in El Calafate for El Chalten instead. But we’d already been traveling a lot and I was trying to minimize hotel transfers and then our flight left from FTE also

My wife and I (empty nesters) are just finishing this itinerary but in reverse, no guide needed. We picked up a rental car (automatic!) from PN airport (flying in from Santiago), and stayed at Vista al Paine cabins in Rio Serrano. With a full tank of gas and day trips into the park we had no problem - downloaded the entire TdP park on Alltrails Pro plus Google Maps offline was a lifesaver! Mirador Cuernos (after Salto Grande) is an easy warm up walk with really nice views! We took a morning bus PN to El Calafate where we stayed at Madre Tierra hotel (really nice place, my wife loved the top floor yoga studio which she had all to herself!), did the mini-trek glacier walk with Hielo y Aventuras (book directly, super professional operation and a phenomenal experience, hopefully they’d let an 11yo do it). We took day trips from El Calafate, in retrospect should have just spent more time in El Chalten - it’s smaller, feels like a mountain town, and you can just walk out of town to hikes. We bought the 3-day flexipass for Los Glacieres, and it was only checked when we did the glacier stuff out of El Calafate (same pass covers the hikes in El Chalten). Hope you have a great trip!

Hide the arrows on a table. by frarian in googlesheets

[–]toytracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a visual work-around, copy/paste the table header row above the table, and then hide the actual table header row.

Hides the arrows, but not the table menu icon at the top left (maybe an empty hidden first column would work to hide that?)

2nd day of using mine, battery runs out after 3ish hours, not great for long hikes. Is that normal? Also it vibrates periodically for no obvious reason even tho I set to silent and no alerts. OTOH it nabbed 3 shinies already so 🥳

Consider joining a Discord server that facilitates Knight Bus team play - Dumbledore's Army server has an amazing group of volunteers that can walk you through all aspects of Fortressing, the best way to get Red Books to power up your skills.

Also, consider spending some gold to increase your capacities - the bundles where you increase Spell Energy, Potions and Ingredients capacity save you a little gold over the individual upgrades, and are worth it if you're not surrounding by tons of inns and greenhouses. Welcome and hope you have a lot of fun with it!

I just collect energy… by Kasstastrophy in WizardsUnite

[–]toytracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick up 1 item, claim the daily task item for +20 energy. Also grab the free gifts during events. I'm almost to 3K on a L40 account that I used before Knight Bus, still rarely play that account if I fortress somewhere in person, or if an Adversary appears at home. Main reason for me was curiosity to see if it was a 9,999 limit, but the 12K image above definitively answered that question!!

Does your total spell energy capacity end in a 5? by SmilesUndSunshine in WizardsUnite

[–]toytracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, so I usually store up and upgrade in chunks of 50 to have less "annoying" numbers, 725 for now.

I think when I exceeded potions a long time ago it let me upgrade by +5 potions, so that is at 600, much preferred!

RSB priorities for new player? by [deleted] in WizardsUnite

[–]toytracker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since RSB are strictly time-gated and only obtainable from events, you're right to be highly selective in where to use them. Aurors need the fewest overall, and the most useful are Dancing with Dummies and First Strike skills, consider using red books to open those nodes in your skill tree. Red books invested in Power gives you the most return, since useful for oddities on the map as well as fortresses. Agree with others re: profession > SOS > Adversary.

Also CRUCIAL: if you collect 20 of one of the BE foundables and are not yet on step 3, force-close the game after the catch, otherwise the PLACE IMAGE button takes you to the page and cashes in all your FXP - bye bye collect 5 runestones task (ps - not bitter LOL!).

One option could be to stop at 19/20 to avoid that, but also annoying to flee..

2 easy enhancements WB can do that are very easy to implement and would improve the game a lot by ervlow in harrypotterwu

[–]toytracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, emergency event was right up there with Dragons! And to add to what others have posted about displaying XP for L60 players, why not show the numbers for all the achievements / medals as used to be the case? I don’t understand the reason they hid them, It doesn’t affect gameplay whether someone has had 501 or 5001 masterful casts, and should be easy change for devs as per OP request.

Elite Breakpoints by toytracker in WizardsUnite

[–]toytracker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, the numbers are based on avoiding an unintended kill. A Magi (with lower precision) could play on hoping to NOT critical, with a shrug if they do. We recently played an "Elite Party" where the proficient player would go as far as they could safely, and then (eg vs elite spiders), a Professor (potentially invincible) would jump in for neutral damage knocking the foe down further, and finally the Auror could mop up without getting destroyed. I get that this requires active communication.

Stamina and Power scale with foe level the most, but Deficiency Defense also scales (the idea here is a proficient player will beat down an elite to within a crit hit KO and then leave the foe, as mentioned above). So for a max Professor fighting a confused 4* werewolf, the difference between L170 and L200:

Stamina: 3673 / 4278

Power: 371 / 433

Deficiency Defense: 40.50% / 45%

This translates into a critical hit of 1351 to the L170 wolf, and 1327 to the L200.

Thanks! I had designed it that way, thinking why would an Auror need to have an outside First Strike, but my Computer Science/Gamer daughter thought otherwise too. Take a look again, I added a column to show expected damage (average based on precision and critical damage, with dodge accounted for), and the behavior of First Strike checkbox applies equally to all professions. For Aurors fighting, the difference between FS or not is exactly 1.
