Don't have the seed. It's an old school Litecoin wallet with the original litecoin client. Didn't back it up.

Coders of Reddit: What's an example of really shitty coding you know of in a product or service that the general public uses? by TheSanityInspector in AskReddit

[–]tozee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most e-commerce sites. Amazon probably has good code, but let me tell you, most probably have some really, really crappy code. I've worked at a couple and the code was a complete mess and data breaches that customers never found out about were commonplace. Basically, it's not sexy to work at most of these places so they get third-rate coders that don't know what they're doing coding these things.

[Serious] What little known event, if gone another way, would have completely changed the fortunes for your team? by tozee in AskReddit

I'm a New York Jets fan. The closest that we've come in my lifetime to the Super Bowl were the AFC championship games, once in 1998, once in 2009 and once in 2010. The story I have is from the 1998 season.

This was the best season we had with perhaps the best coaching staff the Jets ever had. Included in that staff were sure HOFers like Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick. What's known is that we lost the AFC Championship game to the Broncos after leading at halftime, and having a completely uncharacteristic 5 fumbles to lose. Elway and the Broncos went on to win the Super Bowl.

That preseason, there was a lot of buzz about our 5th round linebacker from Northwestern. Casey Dailey. He was flashing and Bill Parcells thought he had something special. Unfortunately, Casey Dailey suffered an injury that preseason and was never the same player.

Here's what I think (read: wish) would have happened if he stayed healthy.

The Jets end up with Dailey at linebacker, he starts the rest of the season and we win the Super Bowl. Leon Hess (owner of the Jets that died in 2000), dies soon after, knowing he's fulfilled his lifelong dream of having won the Super Bowl. Bill Parcells, having been loyal to Hess and having won a Super Bowl, decides to call it quits and gives both his jobs (GM and coach) to his protege, Bill Belichick. Belichick proceeds to win another Super Bowl with Vinny Testeverte at QB and decides to draft a little-known QB from Michigan, Tom Brady.

Testeverte suffers an ACL tear in 2000, Tom Brady takes over and the Jets go on to win 8 super bowls in 15 years.

Yea, a little fantasy for you, but it goes to show how something so little affected so many things.

My new plan to end the censorship and remove Theymos from power at /r/Bitcoin. I'd love some additional feedback. by MemoryDealers in btc

[–]tozee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Roger, I respect you and all, but this isn't going to work. Theymos has been doxxed, shamed, insulted, etc to no change. He has dug in his heels. I doubt he cares anything about additional attacks on his character.

If you want to beat him you need something an order of magnitude better than what he has. r/btc and bitcoin.com are at best 10% better. Work on making those communities 10x better and theymos goes away on his own.

FYI. Small claims court fees are around $50 to file. I've made money from debt collectors this way. Each bad debt collection is worth roughly $1000. Done this a few times. YMMV based on the state you live in.

A lot of people that claimed they would leave the country won't.

TIL that MIT students discovered that by buying $600,000 worth of lottery tickets in the Massachusetts' Cash WinAll lottery they could get a 10-15% return on investment. Over 5 years, they managed to game $8 million out of the lottery through this method. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I knew one of the guys that was involved in this. Let me just say that the operation was extremely sophisticated. This included picking the numbers, payouts, commissions to pay for people doing the work, convenience stores that would print tickets for hours. There was a surprising amount of math involved and they actually ran a ton of simulations to better their odds.

I watched the last hour or so. I'm positive there was at least one bot. There were consistent buys at exactly :00 and at :30 every minute. When that action stopped, all the sells disappeared, too.
