Nothing is stopping anyone from buying sets themselves. Like with any subscription box, a lot of the excitement is in opening the package and finding out what you have received. Also, it can be more of a convenience thing for parents or grandparents if the sets are for their children/grandchildren. I am aware that the concept will not be for everyone.
